Installation [04/2013 - 08/2015]: Procedure

  1. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN LOWER NO. 2 ARM BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Temporarily tighten the lower No. 2 arm bracket sub-assembly to the front lower suspension arm assembly with the nut and washer.
  2. INSTALL FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT ASSEMBLY 

    See step  1

  3. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY 
    1. Install the front lower suspension arm assembly and strut bar bracket reinforcement with the 4 bolts and nut.

      Bolt (A) 

      Torque: 194 N.m (1978 kgf/cm, 143 ft.lbf) 

      Bolt (B) 

      Torque: 86 N.m (877 kgf/cm, 63 ft.lbf) 

      Bolt (C) 

      Torque: 57 N.m (581 kgf/cm, 42 ft.lbf) 

    2. Temporarily tighten the front lower suspension arm assembly with the bolt, nut and washer.
      NOTE:

      Insert the bolt from the front of the vehicle. Then install the washer and temporarily tighten the nut.

  4. CONNECT FRONT LOWER BALL JOINT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Connect the front lower ball joint assembly to the steering knuckle with the 2 bolts.

      Torque: 120 N.m (1224 kgf/cm, 89 ft.lbf) 

  5. CONNECT TIE ROD ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 4

  6. INSTALL FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY 

    See step  9

  7. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING 
    1. Temporarily tighten the front shock absorber with coil spring to the front lower suspension arm assembly with the bolt and nut.
      NOTE:
      • Insert the bolt from the rear of the vehicle.
      • Because the nut has its own stopper, do not turn the nut. Tighten the bolt with the nut secured.

      HINT: 

      Fully tighten the bolt after stabilizing the suspension.

  8. INSTALL SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [04/2013 - 06/2014] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 7 [06/2014 - 08/2015]

  9. STABILIZE SUSPENSION 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [04/2013 - 06/2014] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [06/2014 - 08/2015]

  10. FULLY TIGHTEN FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [04/2013 - 06/2014] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 9 [06/2014 - 08/2015]

  11. FULLY TIGHTEN FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY 
    1. Fully tighten the bolt on the front of the front lower suspension arm assembly.

      Torque: 135 N.m (1377 kgf/cm, 100 ft.lbf) 

    2. Fully tighten the installation nut of the lower No. 2 arm bracket sub-assembly

      Torque: 113 N.m (1152 kgf/cm, 83 ft.lbf) 

  12. INSTALL NO. 2 ENGINE UNDER COVER (w/ No. 2 Engine Under Cover) 

    for 4GR-FSE: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 99

    for 2GR-FSE: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 100

  13. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE 

    for 4GR-FSE: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 100

    for 2GR-FSE: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 101

  14. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER 

    for 4GR-FSE: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 103

    for 2GR-FSE: Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 104

  15. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL 

    Torque: 103 N.m (1050 kgf/cm, 76 ft.lbf) 

  16. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT 

    Refer to ADJUSTMENT [04/2013 - 08/2015]
