Removal [04/2013 - 08/2015]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [04/2013 - 08/2015]

  2. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Exhaust Side of Bank 1) 
    1. Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and camshaft timing oil control valve assembly from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.
      NOTE:

      Do not allow foreign matter to contact the oil seal face of the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly (connecting surface with the cylinder head cover sub-assembly).

    3. Remove the O-ring from the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly.

  3. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Intake Side of Bank 1) 
    1. Remove the bolt and V-bank cover bracket sub-assembly from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.

    2. Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly connector.

    3. Remove the bolt and camshaft timing oil control valve assembly from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.
      NOTE:

      Do not allow foreign matter to contact the oil seal face of the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly (connecting surface with the cylinder head cover sub-assembly).

    4. Remove the O-ring from the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly.

  4. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Exhaust Side of Bank 2) 
    1. Disconnect the 2 wire harness clamps from the ignition coil cover bracket.

    2. Remove the 2 bolts and ignition coil cover bracket from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH.
    3. Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly connector.

    4. Remove the bolt and camshaft timing oil control valve assembly from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH.
      NOTE:

      Do not allow foreign matter to contact the oil seal face of the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly (connecting surface with the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH).

    5. Remove the O-ring from the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly.

  5. REMOVE CAMSHAFT TIMING OIL CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY (for Intake Side of Bank 2) 
    1. Disconnect the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly connector.

    2. Remove the bolt and camshaft timing oil control valve assembly from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH.
      NOTE:

      Do not allow foreign matter to contact the oil seal face of the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly (connecting surface with the cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH).

    3. Remove the O-ring from the camshaft timing oil control valve assembly.
