Removal [04/2013 - 10/2017]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY 

    Refer to REMOVAL [04/2013 - 10/2017]

  2. REMOVE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the fuel tube sub-assembly from the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

      *a Retainer
      *b Fuel Tube Connector
      *c Nylon Tube
      *d O-ring
      *e Fuel Pipe
      Push
      Pull Out
      1. Disengage the 2 claws of the retainer. Pull out the retainer and disconnect the fuel tube connector from the fuel pipe.
        NOTE:
        • Remove any dirt or foreign matter on the fuel tube connector and fuel pipe before performing this work.
        • Be sure to disconnect the fuel tube connector by hand.
      2. If the fuel tube connector and fuel pipe are stuck, push and pull the fuel tube connector to release it. Pull the fuel tube connector off of the fuel pipe carefully.
        NOTE:
        • Be sure to disconnect the fuel tube connector by hand.
        • Do not allow any scratches or foreign matter to get on the parts when disconnecting them as the fuel tube connector has O-rings that seal the fuel pipe.
        • Do not forcibly bend, twist or turn nylon tube.
      3. Check if there is any foreign matter on the sealing surfaces of the disconnected fuel lines. Clean them if necessary.
      4. Cover the disconnected fuel pipe and fuel tube connector with plastic bags to prevent damage and contamination.
    2. Disconnect the 6 fuel injector assembly connectors and 2 clamps.

    3. Remove the 4 bolts and fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.

      NOTE:

      If fuel intrudes into the combustion chamber, there may be adverse effects to the engine main body.

    4. Remove the 4 delivery pipe spacers from the intake manifold.
  3. REMOVE FUEL INJECTOR ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the 6 fuel injector assemblies from the fuel delivery pipe sub-assembly.
      NOTE:

      If the fuel injector assemblies are to be reused, reinstall them to the same cylinder they came from.

    2. Remove the 2 O-rings from each fuel injector assembly.

      *1 O-ring
    3. For reinstallation, attach a tag or label with the corresponding cylinder number to each fuel injector assembly.
      NOTE:

      Protect the fuel injector assemblies by covering them with plastic bags.
