Installation [04/2013 - 10/2017]: Procedure

  1. INSTALL ENGINE REAR OIL SEAL 
    1. Clean the crankshaft and engine rear oil seal retainer.
    2. Apply MP grease to the lip of a new engine rear oil seal.
      NOTE:
      • Keep the lip free of foreign matter.
      • Do not allow MP grease to contact the dust seal section.
    3. Using SST and a hammer, tap in the engine rear oil seal until its surface is flush with the engine rear oil seal retainer edge.

      *a Standard depth
      • SST: 09223-1503009950-70010 
        1. 09951-07150

      Standard depth

      -0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0197 to 0.0197 in.)

      NOTE:
      • Keep the lip free of foreign matter.
      • Do not tap in the engine rear oil seal at an angle.
      • Do not tap in the engine rear oil seal more than necessary.
      • Do not deform the engine rear oil seal.
      • Wipe off extra MP grease on the crankshaft.
  2. INSTALL DRIVE PLATE 
    1. Using SST, hold the crankshaft pulley.

      • SST: 09330-0002109213-70011 
        1. 09213-70020
    2. Clean the 8 bolts and 8 bolt holes.
    3. Install the front drive plate spacer.

      *1 Pin Hole
      *2 Pin

      HINT: 

      Align the pin of the front drive plate spacer with the pin hole of the crankshaft.

    4. Install the drive plate and rear drive plate spacer onto the crankshaft.

      *1 Drive Plate
      *2 Rear Drive Plate Spacer
      Transmission Side

      HINT: 

      Make sure the installation direction of the drive plate and the rear drive plate spacer.

    5. Apply a few drops of adhesive to 2 or 3 threads of the 8 bolt tips.

      Toyota Genuine Adhesive 1324, Three Bond 1324 or equivalent

      NOTE:

      Install the bolt within 3 minutes after applying adhesive.

    6. In several steps, uniformly tighten the 8 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.

      Torque: 83.5 N*m (851 kgf*cm, 62 ft.*lbf) 

      NOTE:

      Do not start the engine for at least an hour after installing the drive plate.

  3. INSPECT DRIVE PLATE (for 2WD) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [04/2013 - 08/2015] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [08/2015 - 10/2017]

  4. INSPECT DRIVE PLATE (for AWD) 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [04/2013 - 08/2015] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 2 [08/2015 - ]

  5. INSTALL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY (for 2WD) 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [04/2013 - 08/2015] , or refer to INSTALLATION [08/2015 - 10/2016] , or refer to INSTALLATION [10/2016 - ]

  6. INSTALL AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WITH TRANSFER ASSEMBLY (for AWD) 

    Refer to INSTALLATION [04/2013 - 08/2015] , or refer to INSTALLATION [08/2015 - ]

  7. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK 

    Refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [04/2013 - 08/2015] , or refer to PROCEDURE - Step 8 [08/2015 - 10/2017]
