Removal [04/2013 - 08/2015]: Procedure
- REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Rear Catalyst)
Refer to REMOVAL [04/2013 - 08/2015]
- REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR
- REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL TANK PROTECTOR
- REMOVE PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY
- Put matchmarks on the rear drive pinion companion flange and propeller with center bearing shaft assembly.
*a Matchmark - Remove the 4 nuts, 4 bolts and 4 washers and disconnect the propeller shaft assembly.
HINT:
If the flange connection is hard to separate, temporarily install 1 nut only and evenly tap the flange with a brass bar and hammer to separate the propeller shaft assembly from the rear drive pinion companion flange.
- Remove the 2 bolts and 2 adjusting washers.
HINT:
Some vehicles are not equipped with the adjusting washers.
- Pull out to remove the propeller with center bearing shaft assembly.
- Insert SST in the transmission to prevent oil leakage.
- SST: 09325-40010
NOTE:- Be careful not to damage the automatic transmission extension housing oil seal (for 2WD).
- Be careful not to damage the transfer case oil seal (for AWD).
- Put matchmarks on the rear drive pinion companion flange and propeller with center bearing shaft assembly.
