Removal [04/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Rear Catalyst) 

    Refer to REMOVAL [04/2013 - 10/2016] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2016 - 10/2017] , or refer to REMOVAL [10/2017 - 09/2020] , or refer to REMOVAL [09/2020 - ]

  2. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR 
    1. Remove the 4 nuts and front No. 1 floor heat insulator.

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 FUEL TANK PROTECTOR 
    1. Remove the 4 nuts and No. 1 fuel tank protector.

  4. REMOVE PROPELLER WITH CENTER BEARING SHAFT ASSEMBLY 
    1. Put matchmarks on the rear drive pinion companion flange and propeller with center bearing shaft assembly.

      *a Matchmark
    2. Remove the 3 bolts, 3 washers and 3 nuts.
      NOTE:

      The propeller intermediate shaft assembly and flexible coupling should not be disconnected.

    3. Remove the 2 bolts and 2 adjusting washers.

      HINT: 

      Some vehicles are not equipped with the adjusting washers.

    4. Pull out to remove the propeller with center bearing shaft assembly.
    5. Insert SST in the transmission to prevent oil leakage.

      • SST: 09325-40010 
      NOTE:

      Be careful not to damage the transfer case oil seal.
