Installation [08/2015 - 09/2020]: Procedure
- INSTALL REAR DISC
- When reusing the rear disc:
- When replacing the rear disc:
- Inspect the rear disc runout.
Refer to INSPECTION [08/2015 - 09/2020]
- Select the installation position where the rear disc has minimal runout, and install the rear disc.
- Inspect the rear disc runout.
- Temporarily install the hub nut.
- INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SHOE ADJUSTING HOLE PLUG
- Install the parking brake shoe adjusting hole plug to rear disc.
- INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER MOUNTING
- Install 2 new rear No. 1 disc brake caliper plates to the rear disc brake cylinder mounting.
- Install the rear disc brake cylinder mounting to the rear axle carrier sub-assembly with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 125 N.m (1275 kgf/cm, 92 ft.lbf)
- INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE BUSHING DUST BOOT
- Apply a light layer of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire circumference of 2 new rear disc brake bushing dust boots.
HINT:
Apply more than 0.3 g (0.01 oz.) of lithium soap base glycol grease to each rear disc brake bushing dust boot.
Lithium Soap Base Glycol Grease - Install the 2 rear disc brake bushing dust boots to the rear disc brake cylinder mounting.
- Apply a light layer of lithium soap base glycol grease to the entire circumference of 2 new rear disc brake bushing dust boots.
- INSTALL REAR NO. 1 DISC BRAKE CYLINDER SLIDE PIN
- Apply a light layer of lithium soap base glycol grease to the sliding part and the sealing surfaces of the rear No. 1 disc brake cylinder slide pin.
Lithium Soap Base Glycol Grease - Install the rear No. 1 disc brake cylinder slide pin to the rear disc brake cylinder mounting.
- Push the rear No. 1 disc brake cylinder slide pin into the rear disc brake bushing dust boot to engage the pin to the boot.
- Apply a light layer of lithium soap base glycol grease to the sliding part and the sealing surfaces of the rear No. 1 disc brake cylinder slide pin.
- INSTALL REAR NO. 2 DISC BRAKE CYLINDER SLIDE PIN
- Apply a light layer of lithium soap base glycol grease to the contact surface of the rear No. 2 disc brake cylinder slide pin.
Lithium Soap Base Glycol Grease - Install a new rear disc brake cylinder slide bushing to the rear No. 2 disc brake cylinder slide pin.
- Apply a light layer of lithium soap base glycol grease to the sliding part and the sealing surfaces of the rear No. 2 disc brake cylinder slide pin.
Lithium Soap Base Glycol Grease - Install the rear No. 2 disc brake cylinder slide pin to the rear disc brake cylinder mounting.
- Push the rear No. 2 disc brake cylinder slide pin into the rear disc brake bushing dust boot to engage the pin to the boot.
- Apply a light layer of lithium soap base glycol grease to the contact surface of the rear No. 2 disc brake cylinder slide pin.
- INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE PAD SUPPORT PLATE
- Install the 2 rear No. 1 disc brake pad support plates and 2 rear No. 2 disc brake pad support plates to the rear disc brake cylinder mounting.NOTE:
Be sure to install each rear disc brake pad support plate in the correct position and direction.
*1 Rear No. 1 Disc Brake Pad Support Plate *2 Rear No. 2 Disc Brake Pad Support Plate
- Install the 2 rear No. 1 disc brake pad support plates and 2 rear No. 2 disc brake pad support plates to the rear disc brake cylinder mounting.
- INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE ANTI-SQUEAL SHIM KIT NOTE:
- When replacing worn rear disc brake pads, the rear disc brake anti-squeal shim kit must be replaced together with the rear disc brake pads.
- Install each rear disc brake pad wear indicator plate in the correct position and direction.
- Install the rear disc brake anti-squeal shims in the correct positions and directions.
- Install the rear No. 1 disc brake anti-squeal shim to each rear disc brake pad.
*1 Rear No. 1 Disc Brake Anti-squeal Shim *2 Rear No. 2 Disc Brake Anti-squeal Shim *3 Rear Disc Brake Pad Wear Indicator Plate - Install the rear No. 2 disc brake anti-squeal shim to the rear disc brake pad (inside).
- Install the rear disc brake pad wear indicator plate to each rear disc brake pad.
- INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE PAD
- Install the 2 rear disc brake pads to the rear disc brake cylinder mounting.NOTE:
There should be no oil or grease on the friction surfaces of the disc brake pads or the rear disc.
- Install the 2 rear disc brake pads to the rear disc brake cylinder mounting.
- INSTALL REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY
- Hold the 2 rear disc brake cylinder slide pins and install the rear disc brake cylinder assembly to the rear disc brake cylinder mounting with the 2 bolts.
Torque: 26.5 N.m (270 kgf/cm, 20 ft.lbf)
- Hold the 2 rear disc brake cylinder slide pins and install the rear disc brake cylinder assembly to the rear disc brake cylinder mounting with the 2 bolts.
- CONNECT REAR FLEXIBLE HOSE
- Connect the rear flexible hose to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly with a new union bolt and a new gasket.
Torque: 39.2 N.m (400 kgf/cm, 29 ft.lbf)
NOTE:Install the rear flexible hose lock securely into the lock hole in the rear disc brake cylinder assembly.
- Connect the rear flexible hose to the rear disc brake cylinder assembly with a new union bolt and a new gasket.
- BLEED BRAKE LINE

- ADJUST PARKING BRAKE
Refer to ADJUSTMENT [08/2015 - 09/2020]
- INSTALL REAR WHEEL
Torque: 103 N.m (1050 kgf/cm, 76 ft.lbf)
