DTC B1570-11: Indicator (Red) Circuit Short to Ground; DTC B1570-13: Indicator (Red) Circuit Open [09/2020 - ]: Procedure

1. Turn the engine switch off.
2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for 10 seconds or more.
4. Turn the Techstream on.
5. Clear the DTCs.

   Body Electrical > Telematics > Clear DTCs 

6. Check for DTCs and check that no DTCs are output.

   Body Electrical > Telematics > Trouble Codes 

   OK

   No DTCs are output.

   Result

   Proceed to
   OK
   NG

OK

1. Remove the map light assembly (manual (SOS) switch).

2. Connect 2 dry-cell batteries (1.5 V each) in series.
3. Connect a positive (+) lead from the batteries to terminal 6 (IND1) and a negative (-) lead to terminal 9 (GND3) of the map light assembly (manual (SOS) switch) connector.
4. Check if the manual (SOS) switch red indicator illuminates.

   OK

   Manual (SOS) switch red indicator illuminates.

   Result

   Proceed to

   NG

REPLACE MAP LIGHT ASSEMBLY (MANUAL (SOS) SWITCH). Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2020 - 09/2022]  , or refer to  REMOVAL [09/2022 - ]

1. Disconnect the K177 DCM (telematics transceiver) connector.
2. Disconnect the S4 map light sub-assembly (manual (SOS) switch) connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   K177-4 (IND1) - S4-6 (IND1)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   K177-4 (IND1) or S4-6 (IND1) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

   • Do not exchange the DCM (telematics transceiver) with one from another vehicle.
