DTC B1508: Short in Turn Signal / Hazard Flasher Circuit [10/2016 - 09/2020]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT LIGHTS 
    1. Inspect the illumination of each turn signal light.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      All LH turn signal lights do not blink A
      All RH turn signal lights do not blink B

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the Q43 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the K4 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q43-4 (TRN) or K4-11 (TRNL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      OK (w/ AFS (Adaptive Front-lighting System)) A
      OK (w/o AFS (Adaptive Front-lighting System)) B

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY OR BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the A33 headlight assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the 4C instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A33-6 (B) or 4C-6 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 1 HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the r1 No. 1 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the 4C instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      r1-11 (TNS) or 4C-6 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Result

      Result Proceed to

      NG B

    1. Disconnect the 4A instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the N24 outer mirror control ECU assembly LH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      4A-6, N24-11(TRNI) or K4-13 (LL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Proceed to

  8. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Remove the outer rear view mirror assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2016 - 09/2020]

    2. Remove the side turn signal light assembly LH from the outer rear view mirror assembly LH.

      Refer to DISASSEMBLY [04/2013 - 09/2020]

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      z11-16 - z11-12 Always 10 kΩ or higher

  9. REPLACE OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Replace the outer mirror control ECU assembly LH with a new or known good one.

      Refer to REMOVAL [04/2013 - ]

    2. Check for the DTCs.

      Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [04/2013 - ]

    1. Disconnect the 4A instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the N23 outer rear view mirror assembly LH connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      4A-6, N23-16(B) or K4-13 (LL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Remove the outer rear view mirror assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [10/2016 - 09/2020]

    2. Remove the side turn signal light assembly LH from the outer rear view mirror assembly LH.

      Refer to DISASSEMBLY [04/2013 - 09/2020]

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

  12. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the Q5 rear combination light assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the K4 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q5-4 (TRN) or K4-5 (TRNR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    1. Disconnect the q1 No. 1 headlight ECU sub-assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the 4C instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      q1-11 (TNS) or 4C-8 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
