DTC B1507: Open in Turn Signal Circuit [09/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK SYMPTOMS 
    1. Check the problem symptoms.

      Result

      LH side front turn signal light does not blink A
      LH side rear turn signal light does not blink B
      RH side front turn signal light does not blink C
      RH side rear turn signal light does not blink D

  2. INSPECT HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the headlight ECU sub-assembly LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2020 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      (Headlight ECU Sub-assembly LH)      		 - -

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A112-11 (TNS) - B-9 (TURN+) Always Below 1 Ω
      A112-12 (GND) - B-13 (TURN-) Always Below 1 Ω

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2020 - ]

  3. CONFIRM MODEL 
    1. Choose the model to be inspected.

  4. CHECK LH SIDE FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT 
    1. Remove the headlight unit assembly LH and RH.

      Refer to DISASSEMBLY [09/2020 - ]

    2. Interchange the headlight unit assembly LH with RH and connect the connectors.
    3. Check the LH side front turn signal light operates normally.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      LH side front turn signal light operates normally A
      Problem symptoms do not change
      (LH side front turn signal light does not blink)      		 B

    Result: 

    A 

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [09/2020 - ]

  5. CHECK LH SIDE FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT (HEADLIGHT CORD LH) 
    1. Remove the headlight cord LH and RH.

      Refer to DISASSEMBLY [09/2020 - ]

    2. Interchange the headlight cord LH with RH and connect the connectors.
    3. Check the LH side front turn signal light operates normally.
      NOTE:

      If the LH side front turn signal light operates normally, return the headlight cord LH and headlight cord RH that were interchanged in a previous step back to their original conditions so that a component of the headlight unit assembly LH can be inspected in the next step.

  6. CHECK LH SIDE FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT (HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY LH) 
    1. Remove the headlight unit assembly LH and RH.

      Refer to DISASSEMBLY [09/2020 - ]

    2. Interchange the headlight unit assembly LH with RH and connect the connectors.
    3. Check the LH side front turn signal light operates normally.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      LH side front turn signal light operates normally A
      Problem symptoms do not change
      (LH side front turn signal light does not blink)      		 B

    Result:

    REPLACE HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [09/2020 - ]

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the A112 headlight assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the K4 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A112-11 (TNS) - K4-13 (LL) Always Below 1 Ω
      A112-12 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2020 - ] 

    Result: 

    NG 

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  8. CHECK LH SIDE REAR TURN SIGNAL LIGHT 
    1. Remove the rear combination light lens and body LH and RH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2020 - ]

    2. Interchange the rear combination light lens and body LH with RH and connect the connectors.
    3. Check the LH side rear turn signal light operates normally.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      LH side front turn signal light operates normally A
      Problem symptoms do not change
      (LH side front turn signal light does not blink)      		 B

    Result: 

    A 

    REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT LENS AND BODY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2020 - ]

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the Q43 rear combination light assembly LH connector.
    2. Disconnect the K4 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q43-4 (TRN) - K4-11 (TRNL) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q43-6 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2020 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  10. INSPECT HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the headlight ECU sub-assembly RH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2020 - ]

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  13. CHECK RH SIDE FRONT TURN SIGNAL LIGHT (HEADLIGHT CORD RH) 
    1. Remove the headlight cord RH and LH.

      Refer to DISASSEMBLY [09/2020 - ]

    2. Interchange the headlight cord RH with LH and connect the connectors.
    3. Check the RH side front turn signal light operates normally.
      NOTE:

      If the RH side front turn signal light operates normally, return the headlight cord RH and headlight cord LH that were interchanged in a previous step back to their original conditions so that a component of the headlight unit assembly RH can be inspected in the next step.

    2. Interchange the headlight unit assembly RH with LH and connect the connectors.
    3. Check the RH side front turn signal light operates normally.

    1. Disconnect the A110 headlight assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the K4 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A110-11 (TNS) - K4-7 (LR) Always Below 1 Ω
      A110-12 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result:

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2020 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  16. CHECK RH SIDE REAR TURN SIGNAL LIGHT 
    1. Remove the rear combination light lens and body RH and LH.

      Refer to REMOVAL [09/2020 - ]

    2. Interchange the rear combination light lens and body RH with LH and connect the connectors.
    3. Check the RH side rear turn signal light operates normally.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      RH side front turn signal light operates normally A
      Problem symptoms do not change
      (RH side front turn signal light does not blink)      		 B

    Result:

    REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT LENS AND BODY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2020 - ]

  17. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH - COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the Q5 rear combination light assembly RH connector.
    2. Disconnect the K4 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      Q5-4 (TRN) - K4-5 (TRNR) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q5-6 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Result
