DTC B1321: Lost Communication with EMV; DTC B1326: Lost Communication with Clock Device (Local-CAN) [09/2020 - ]: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC (EACH SYSTEM) 
    1. Check each system for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Trouble Codes 

      Body Electrical > Navigation System > Trouble Codes 

    2. Confirm the DTC combinations of the following table.

  2. INSPECT EACH ECU (INTERNAL MALFUNCTION) 
    1. Remove 1 of the following ECUs.
    2. Measure the resistance of the removed ECU.
      NOTE:
      • Refer to the following table for the specified conditions of each ECU.
      • If the specified conditions are met, repeat the inspection procedure from step (a) for another ECU.

      HINT: 

      If the results of an ECU are not as specified, it is suspected that the ECU is the cause of the DTC.

      3. Inspect the remote operation controller assembly.

      4. Inspect the combination meter assembly.

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2020 - ] 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LOCAL BUS COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the K4 combination meter assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K4-10 (MSCH) - K4-9 (MSCL) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2020 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LOCAL BUS COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Disconnect the K173 radio receiver assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K173-5 (CNH1) - K173-6 (CNL1) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 108 to 132 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to
      OK
      NG

    Result: 

    OK 

    REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [09/2020 - ]

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

  5. CHECK FOR DTC (METER / GAUGE SYSTEM) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      HINT: 

      By disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal, the internally stored information related to local bus communication for the combination meter assembly is reset.

    2. Disconnect the K173 radio receiver assembly connector.
    3. Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
    4. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    5. Clear the DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Clear DTCs 

    6. Wait 30 seconds or more.
    7. Check for DTCs.

      Body Electrical > Combination Meter > Trouble Codes 

      HINT: 

      By resetting the internally stored information related to local bus communication, the detection conditions of DTC B1321 are not met as the combination meter assembly does not detect the radio receiver assembly. If the combination meter assembly is operating normally, DTC B1321 will not be stored.

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the K167 clock assembly connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K167-1 (B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      K167-2 (ACC) - Body ground Engine switch off Below 1 V

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CLOCK ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      K167-7 (E) - Body ground Below 1 Ω 108 to 132 Ω

      Result

      Proceed to

      NG

    Result:

    REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LOCAL BUS COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT) 
    1. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      K167-5 (TX+1) - K167-6 (TX-1) Cable disconnected from negative (-) battery terminal 54 to 69 Ω
