Operating Light Control Rheostat does not Change Light Brightness [09/2013 - ]: Procedure

1. Use the Data List to check the rheostat switch. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [09/2013 - ] .

1. Remove the trip switch. Refer to REMOVAL [09/2013 - ] .
2. Inspect the trip switch. Refer to INSPECTION [09/2013 - ] .

NG → See step   5 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Disconnect the N40 combination meter assembly connector.
2. Disconnect the N8 trip switch connector.
3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   N40-24 (TR) - N8-3 (IG)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   N8-5 (E) - Body ground
   N40-24 (TR) - Body ground	Always	Below 1 Ω

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
