Diagnosis Circuit: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check if a CAN communication system DTC is output. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [03/2012 - ] .
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are output A
      DTC is not output B

    A → See step   6 

    B: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DLC3 - POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Turn the power switch off.

    2. Disconnect the N92 connector from the power management control ECU.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N20-13 (TC) - N92-8 (TC) Always Below 1 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Front view of DLC3
      *b Rear view of wire harness connector
      (to Power Management Control ECU)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DLC3 - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N20-4 (CG) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      *a Front view of DLC3

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N92-8 (TC) - Body ground Always 1 MΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Rear view of wire harness connector
      (to Power Management Control ECU)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR OR EACH ECU 

    OK → See step   5 

  5. REPLACE CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2012 - ] 
  6. GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [03/2012 - ]
