DTC B1507: Open in Turn Signal Circuit; DTC B1508: Short in Turn Signal / Hazard Flasher Circuit: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2012 - ] .
    2. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2012 - ] .

      OK

      DTC B1507 or B1508 output does not occur.

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → See step   22 

  2. CONFIRM MALFUNCTIONING LIGHT 
    1. Check the malfunctioning turn signal light.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      No right turn signal lights turn on A
      No left turn signal lights turn on B
      One of the right turn signal lights does not turn on C
      One of the left turn signal lights does not turn on D

    D → See step   13 

    A: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU RH) 
    1. Disconnect the N39 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q4 front multiplex network door ECU RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the B2 headlight unit assembly RH connector.
    4. Disconnect the U43 rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly RH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N39-13 (LR) - Q4-20 (TRNI) Always Below 1 Ω
      N39-13 (LR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   23 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU LH) 
    1. Disconnect the N39 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q19 front multiplex network door ECU LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the B5 headlight unit assembly LH connector.
    4. Disconnect the U45 rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly LH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N39-7 (LL) - Q19-20 (TRNI) Always Below 1 Ω
      N39-7 (LL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   23 

  5. CONFIRM MALFUNCTIONING LIGHT (RH SIDE) 
    1. Check the malfunctioning turn signal light.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      Front turn signal light does not illuminate (for HID Headlight) A
      Front turn signal light does not illuminate (for LED Headlight) B
      Side turn signal light does not illuminate C
      Rear turn signal light does not illuminate D

    A: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY RH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the N39 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the B2 headlight unit assembly RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the Q4 front multiplex network door ECU RH connector.
    4. Disconnect the U43 rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly RH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N39-13 (LR) - B2-16 Always Below 1 Ω
      B2-21 - Body ground
      N39-13 (LR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   31 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY RH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the N39 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the B2 headlight assembly RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the Q4 front multiplex network door ECU RH connector.
    4. Disconnect the U43 rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly RH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N39-13 (LR) - B2-16 Always Below 1 Ω
      B2-21 - Body ground
      N39-13 (LR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  8. CHECK HEADLIGHT CORD RH 
    1. Replace the headlight cord RH with a new or normally functioning one. Refer to DISASSEMBLY [03/2012 - ] .
    2. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2012 - ] .

      OK

      DTC B1507 or B1508 output does not occur.

    NG → See step   33 

    OK → END (HEADLIGHT CORD RH WAS DEFECTIVE) 

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU RH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the N39 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q4 front multiplex network door ECU RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the B2 headlight unit assembly RH connector.
    4. Disconnect the U43 rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly RH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N39-13 (LR) - Q4-20 (TRNI) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q4-1 (GND) - Body ground
      N39-13 (LR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  10. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the outer rear view mirror assembly RH. Refer to REMOVAL [03/2012 - ] .

    2. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 16 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 12, and check that the light comes on.

      OK

      Light comes on.

    NG → See step   11 

    OK → See step   24 

  11. INSPECT SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH 
    1. Remove the side turn signal light assembly RH. Refer to REMOVAL [03/2012 - ] .
    2. Inspect the side turn signal light assembly RH. Refer to INSPECTION [03/2012 - ] .

    NG → See step   26 

    OK → See step   25 

  12. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the N39 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the U43 rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly RH connector.
    3. Disconnect the B2 headlight unit assembly RH connector.
    4. Disconnect the Q4 front multiplex network door ECU RH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N39-13 (LR) - U43-2 (TRN) Always Below 1 Ω
      U43-4 (E) - Body ground
      N39-13 (LR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   27 

  13. CONFIRM MALFUNCTIONING LIGHT (LH SIDE) 
    1. Check the malfunctioning turn signal light.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      Front turn signal light does not illuminate (for HID Headlight) A
      Front turn signal light does not illuminate (for LED Headlight) B
      Side turn signal light does not illuminate C
      Rear turn signal light does not illuminate D

  14. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY LH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the N39 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the B5 headlight unit assembly LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the Q19 front multiplex network door ECU LH connector.
    4. Disconnect the U45 rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly LH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N39-7 (LL) - B5-16 Always Below 1 Ω
      B5-21 - Body ground
      N39-7 (LL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   32 

  15. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY LH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the N39 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the B5 headlight assembly LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the Q19 front multiplex network door ECU LH connector.
    4. Disconnect the U45 rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly LH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N39-7 (LL) - B5-16 Always Below 1 Ω
      B5-21 - Body ground
      N39-7 (LL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  16. CHECK HEADLIGHT CORD LH 
    1. Replace the headlight cord RH with a new or normally functioning one. Refer to DISASSEMBLY [03/2012 - ] .
    2. Check for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [03/2012 - ] .

      OK

      DTC B1507 or B1508 output does not occur.

    NG → See step   34 

    OK → END (HEADLIGHT CORD LH WAS DEFECTIVE) 

  17. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU LH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the N39 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the Q19 front multiplex network door ECU LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the B5 headlight unit assembly LH connector.
    4. Disconnect the U45 rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly LH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N39-7 (LL) - Q19-20 (TRNI) Always Below 1 Ω
      Q19-1 (GND) - Body ground
      N39-7 (LL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  18. INSPECT OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the outer rear view mirror assembly LH. Refer to REMOVAL [03/2012 - ] .

    2. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 16 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 12, and check that the light comes on.

      OK

      Light comes on.

    NG → See step   19

  19. INSPECT SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH 
    1. Remove the side turn signal light assembly LH. Refer to REMOVAL [03/2012 - ] .
    2. Inspect the side turn signal light assembly LH. Refer to INSPECTION [03/2012 - ] .

    NG → See step   30 

    OK → See step   29 

  20. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the N39 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the U45 rear combination light socket and wire sub-assembly LH connector.
    3. Disconnect the B5 headlight unit assembly LH connector.
    4. Disconnect the Q19 front multiplex network door ECU LH connector.
    5. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      N39-7 (LL) - U45-2 (TRN) Always Below 1 Ω
      U45-4 (E) - Body ground
      N39-7 (LL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   21 

  21. REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2012 - ] 
  22. USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING [03/2012 - ] 
  23. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2012 - ] 
  24. REPLACE FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU RH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [03/2012 - ] 
  25. REPLACE OUTER MIRROR ACTUATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [03/2012 - ] 
  26. REPLACE SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2012 - ] 
  27. REPLACE REAR COMBINATION LIGHT SOCKET AND WIRE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2012 - ] 
  28. REPLACE FRONT MULTIPLEX NETWORK DOOR ECU LH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [03/2012 - ] 
  29. REPLACE OUTER MIRROR ACTUATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [03/2012 - ] 
  30. REPLACE SIDE TURN SIGNAL LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  REMOVAL [03/2012 - ] 
  31. REPLACE HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY RH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [03/2012 - ] 
  32. REPLACE HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY LH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY [03/2012 - ]
