DTC B1500: Fuel Sender Open Detected: Procedure

1. Operate the Techstream according to the display and select the Data List. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST [12/2011 - ] .
   COMBINATION METER

   OK

   Fuel amount value displayed on the Techstream is almost the same as needle indication.

OK → See step   10 

1. Disconnect the N40 combination meter assembly connector.
2. Disconnect the U11 fuel suction plate sub-assembly connector.
3. Disconnect the T16 fuel tank vent tube assembly connector.
4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   N40-26 (FR) - U11-2	Always	Below 1 Ω
   N40-27 (FE) - T16-3
   U11-3 - T16-2
   N40-30 (ES) - Body ground
   N40-26 (FR) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   N40-27 (FE) - Body ground
   U11-3 - Body ground

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Remove the fuel sender gauge assembly. Refer to REMOVAL [12/2011 - ] .
2. Inspect the fuel sender gauge assembly. Refer to INSPECTION [12/2011 - ] .

NG → See step   7 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Remove the fuel suction plate sub-assembly. Refer to REMOVAL [12/2011 - ] .

2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   A-2 - B-2	Always	Below 1 Ω
   A-3 - B-1

NG → See step   8 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Remove the No. 2 fuel sender gauge assembly. Refer to REMOVAL [12/2011 - ] .
2. Inspect the No. 2 fuel sender gauge assembly. Refer to INSPECTION [12/2011 - ] .

NG → See step   9 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Remove the fuel tank vent tube assembly. Refer to REMOVAL [12/2011 - ] .

2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   A-2 - B-2	Always	Below 1 Ω
