DTC C13AD/23: Open in +B Circuit: Procedure

  1. INSPECT FUSE (E-PKB) 
    1. Remove the E-PKB fuse from the luggage room junction block.
    2. Measure the resistance of the fuse.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E-PKB fuse Always Below 1 Ω
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      NG A
      OK B

    B → See step   3 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECU - BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the S46 ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S46-8 (+B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → CHECK FOR SHORTS IN ALL HARNESSES AND CONNECTORS CONNECTED TO FUSE AND REPLACE FUSE 

    OK → REPLACE FUSE 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECU - BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the S46 ECU connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S46-8 (+B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE ECU (DATA LIST) 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Electric Parking Brake / Data List.
    5. Check the values by referring to the table below.
      ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Switch Condition Normal Condition
      ECU Voltage Monitor +B power source information display/
      min.: 0.00 V
      max.: 20.00 V
      - 11 to 14 V

      OK

      Values are as shown in normal condition.

    NG → See step   5 

    OK → See step   6 

  5. REPLACE ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  6. USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING
