DTC C13A2/22: Engine / Power Switch Malfunction: Procedure

  1. CHECK IG VOLTAGE (DATA LIST) 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Electric Parking Brake / Data List.
    5. Check the values by referring to the table below.
      ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      IG Status Engine switch information display/
      ON or OFF
      ON: Engine switch on (IG)
      OFF: Engine switch is on (ACC) or off
      IG circuit
      IG Switch IG power source information display/
      ON or OFF
      ON: IG power source is input into electric parking brake ECU
      OFF: IG power source is not input into electric parking brake ECU
      IG circuit

      OK

      On the Techstream screen, item changes between ON and OFF according to switch operation.

    NG → See step   3 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK DTC 
    1. Clear the DTC. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    2. Check for DTC.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      C13A2/22 is output A
      DTC is not output B

    B → See step   9 

    A → See step   11 

  3. INSPECT FUSE (RR-IG1-1, D-IG1-3) 
    1. Remove the RR-IG1-1 fuse from the luggage room junction block.
    2. Remove the D-IG1-3 fuse from the main body ECU.
    3. Measure the resistance of the fuse.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      RR-IG1-1 fuse Always Below 1 Ω
      D-IG1-3 fuse Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → CHECK FOR SHORT IN ALL HARNESSES AND CONNECTORS CONNECTED TO FUSE AND REPLACE FUSE 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ECU - LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK AND BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the S46 and S48 ECU connectors.
    2. Disconnect the LA luggage room junction block connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      S48-4 (IG) - LA-21 Always Below 1 Ω
      S48-4 (IG) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      S46-3 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      LA-43 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK (RR-IG1 RELAY) 
    1. Disconnect the S48 ECU connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      S48-4 (IG) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      NG A
      OK B

    B → See step   11 

    A: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK - BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the LG luggage room junction block connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      LG-1 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK - BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the LD luggage room junction block connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      LD-24 - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      NG A
      OK B

    B → REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 

    A: Go to next step 

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK - MAIN BODY ECU)

    1. Disconnect the LD luggage room junction block connector.
    2. Disconnect the DD main body ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      LD-24 - DD-23 Always Below 1 Ω
      LD-24 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   10 

  9. USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  10. GO TO SMART ACCESS SYSTEM WITH PUSH-BUTTON START (Power Source Mode does not Change). Refer to  Power Source Mode does not Change 
  11. REPLACE ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL
