Rear Left Seat's Seat Heater does not Operate: Procedure

  1. CHECK FUSE (RR-IG1-3, P RR S/HTR) 
    1. Remove the RR-IG1-3 fuse from the luggage room junction block.
    2. Remove the P RR S/HTR fuse from passenger side junction block.
    3. Measure the resistance of the fuses.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connector Condition Specified Condition
      RR-IG1-3 fuse Always Below 1 Ω
      P RR S/HTR fuse Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPLACE FUSE 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU LH - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the f13 ECU connector.

    2. Measure the voltage and resistance according to the value(s) in the table blow.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      f13-1 (IG) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      f13-2 (SYSB) - body ground Always 11 to 14 V

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      f13-12 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (REAR POWER SEAT SWITCH) 
    1. Check the Data List for proper functioning of the rear seat heater switch.
      REAR CONSOLE SWITCH

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      RL Seat A/C Main Switch Rear left seat heater switch signal/ON or OFF ON: Rear seat heater switch LH ON
      OFF: Rear seat heater switch LH OFF
      -
      RL Seat A/C Volume Switch Rear left seat heater switch signal (volume)/MIN: LEVEL 1, MAX: LEVEL 14 or NG Within range from LEVEL 1 to LEVEL 14
      NG: Rear seat heater switch LH malfunction
      -

      OK

      The display is as specified in the normal condition.

    NG → See step   4 

    OK → See step   5 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR POWER SEAT MODULE SWITCH - CURTAIN SWITCH AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the r1 and r3 switch connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table blow.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      r1-6 (BVR) - r3-17 (BVR) Always Below 1 Ω
      r1-7 (SW2) - r3-18 (SW2) Always Below 1 Ω
      r1-9 (L VR) - r3-20 (L VR) Always Below 1 Ω
      r1-6 (BVR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      r1-7 (SW2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      r1-9 (L VR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   6 

  5. REPLACE SEAT CLIMATE CONTROL ECU LH. Refer to  DISASSEMBLY 
  6. REPLACE CURTAIN SWITCH (REAR SEAT HEATER SWITCH). Refer to  REMOVAL
