Sound Signal Circuit between Headphone Terminal and Television Display: Procedure

  1. CHECK REAR SEAT ENTERTAINMENT 
    1. Check the rear seat entertainment.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      except 5-Passenger with Ottoman A
      for 5-Passenger with Ottoman B

    B → See step   5 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELEVISION DISPLAY - REAR SEAT CONSOLE BOX) 
    1. Disconnect the R59 television display assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the R16 rear seat console box assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R59-15 (HP1L) - R16-2 (HP1L) Always Below 1 Ω
      R59-17 (HP1R) - R16-1 (HP1R) Always Below 1 Ω
      R59-16 (SLD1) - R16-3 (SGN1) Always Below 1 Ω
      R59-18 (HP2L) - R16-16 (HP2L) Always Below 1 Ω
      R59-20 (HP2R) - R16-15 (HP2R) Always Below 1 Ω
      R59-19 (SLD2) - R16-17 (SGN2) Always Below 1 Ω
      R59-15 (HP1L) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      R59-17 (HP1R) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      R59-16 (SLD1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      R59-18 (HP2L) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      R59-20 (HP2R) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      R59-19 (SLD2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT REAR SEAT CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the rear seat console box assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R16-1 (HP1R) - B-1 (HP1R) Always Below 1 Ω
      R16-2 (HP1L) - B-2 (HP1L) Always Below 1 Ω
      R16-3 (SGN1) - B-3 (SGN1) Always Below 1 Ω
      R16-15 (HP2R) - C-1 (HP2R) Always Below 1 Ω
      R16-16 (HP2L) - C-2 (HP2L) Always Below 1 Ω
      R16-17 (SGN2) - C-3 (SGN2) Always Below 1 Ω
      R16-1 (HP1R) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      R16-2 (HP1L) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      R16-3 (SGN1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      R16-15 (HP2R) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      R16-16 (HP2L) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      R16-17 (SGN2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → See step   9 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using an oscilloscope, check the waveform between each terminal and the body ground according to the conditions as shown in the table below.

      OK

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R59-17 (HP1R) - Body ground RSE playing Waveform synchronized with sound is output
      R59-15 (HP1L) - Body ground
      R59-20 (HP2R) - Body ground
      R59-18 (HP2L) - Body ground

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TELEVISION DISPLAY - HEADPHONE TERMINAL) 
    1. for LH:
      1. Disconnect the R62 television display assembly connector.
      2. Disconnect the r7 headphone terminal connector.
      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        R62-17 (HP1R) - r7-1 (HP1R) Always Below 1 Ω
        R62-15 (HP1L) - r7-2 (HP1L) Always Below 1 Ω
        R62-16 (SLD1) - r7-3 (SGN1) Always Below 1 Ω
        R62-17 (HP1R) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        R62-15 (HP1L) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        R62-16 (SLD1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    2. for RH:
      1. Disconnect the R62 television display assembly connector.
      2. Disconnect the R8 headphone terminal RH connector.
      3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        R62-20 (HP2R) - R8-5 (HP2R) Always Below 1 Ω
        R62-18 (HP2L) - R8-6 (HP2L) Always Below 1 Ω
        R62-19 (SLD2) - R8-7 (SGN2) Always Below 1 Ω
        R62-20 (HP2R) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        R62-18 (HP2L) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        R62-19 (SLD2) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Using an oscilloscope, check the waveform between each terminal and the body ground according to the conditions as shown in the table below.

      OK

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      R62-20 (HP2R) - Body ground RSE playing Waveform synchronized with sound is output
      R62-18 (HP2L) - Body ground
      R62-17 (HP1R) - Body ground
      R62-15 (HP1L) - Body ground

  7. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
  8. REPLACE TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  9. REPLACE REAR SEAT CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  10. REPLACE TELEVISION DISPLAY ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
