DTC B2410: Headlight Swivel Motor LH Communication Malfunction; DTC B2411: Headlight Swivel Motor RH Communication Malfunction: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTC. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    2. Check for DTC. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

      OK

      DTC B2410 or B2411 output does not occur.

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → See step   7 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - AFS ECU)

    1. Disconnect the A37 ECU connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A37-14 (IGS) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AFS ECU - BODY GROUND)

    1. Disconnect the A37 ECU connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A37-22 (E1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AFS ECU - HEADLIGHT)

    1. Disconnect the A37 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the B1 or B11 light connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      for LH 

      for RH 

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A37-29 (SML) - B1-23 (SML) Always Below 1 Ω
      A37-29 (SML) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A37-10 (SMR) - B11-23 (SMR) Always Below 1 Ω
      A37-10 (SMR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. INSPECT HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY

    1. Remove the headlight assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .
    2. Disconnect the swivel motor connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      for LH 

      for RH 

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      23 (SML) - 2 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      23 (SMR) - 2 (LIN) Always Below 1 Ω

    NG → See step   9 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HEADLIGHT SWIVEL MOTOR (OPERATION) 
    1. Temporarily replace the headlight swivel motor with a new or normally functioning one. Refer to DISASSEMBLY .
    2. Check for DTC. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

      OK

      DTC B2410 or B2411 output does not occur.

    NG → See step   8 

    OK → See step   10 

  7. USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  8. REPLACE AFS ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  9. REPLACE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  10. END (REPLACE HEADLIGHT SWIVEL MOTOR). Refer to  DISASSEMBLY
