DTC B15C0: Short in GPS Antenna; DTC B15C1: Open in GPS Antenna: Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for 10 seconds.
    4. Perform "Health Check" and check for current DTCs. Refer to HEALTH CHECK .
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B15C0 or B15C1 is output A
      DTC B15C0 and B15C1 is not output B

    B → See step   9 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the telephone and GPS antenna connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2 - 2a Always 80 to 120 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Telephone and GPS Antenna

    NG → See step   12 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT NO. 3 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the No. 3 antenna cord sub-assembly from telephone and GPS antenna connector.

    2. Disconnect the No. 3 antenna cord sub-assembly from No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A-2 - B-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      A-2a - B-2a Always Below 1 Ω
      A-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A-2a - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a No. 3 Antenna Cord Sub-assembly

    NG → REPLACE NO. 3 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. INSPECT NO. 2 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly from No. 3 antenna cord sub-assembly.

    2. Disconnect the No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly from antenna cord sub-assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C-2 - D-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      C-2a - D-1a Always Below 1 Ω
      C-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C-2a - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      *a No. 2 Antenna Cord Sub-assembly

    NG → See step   11 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. INSPECT ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the antenna cord sub-assembly from No. 2 antenna cord sub-assembly.

    2. Disconnect the antenna cord sub-assembly from antenna cord sub-assembly.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E-1 - F-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      F-1a - F-1a Always Below 1 Ω
      E-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      F-1a - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      *a Antenna Cord Sub-assembly

    NG → REPLACE ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. INSPECT ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the antenna cord sub-assembly from antenna cord sub-assembly.

    2. Disconnect the antenna cord sub-assembly from DCM (telematics transceiver).
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G-1 - H-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      G-1a - H-1a Always Below 1 Ω
      G-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G-1a - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *a Antenna Cord Sub-assembly

    NG → REPLACE ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA 
    1. Replace the telephone and GPS antenna with a normally functioning one and check if the same problem occurs again. Refer to REMOVAL .

      OK

      The system returns to normal.

    NG → See step   8 

    OK → END 

  8. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (telematics transceiver). Refer to REMOVAL .
      NOTE:
      • The engine switch must be off.
      • Do not replace the DCM (telematics transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

    NEXT → See step   10 

  9. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
  10. PERFORM DCM ACTIVATION. Refer to  DCM ACTIVATION 
  11. REPLACE NO. 2 ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  12. REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA. Refer to  REMOVAL
