Brake Booster: Removal: Removal
NOTE:
Release the vacuum from the booster by depressing the brake pedal several times. Then remove the brake master cylinder sub-assembly from the brake booster assembly.
- PRECAUTION WARNING:
Be sure to read the "PRECAUTION" thoroughly before servicing. Refer to PRECAUTION .
- REMOVE COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER SUB-ASSEMBLY
HINT:
Refer to the procedure up to Remove Cowl Top Ventilator Louver Sub-assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .
- REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
HINT:
Refer to the procedure up to Remove Driver Side Knee Airbag Assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .
- DRAIN BRAKE FLUID NOTE:
If brake fluid leaks onto any painted surface, immediately wash it off.
- REMOVE NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK See step 5
- REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER SUB-ASSEMBLY See step 6
- REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR WITH BRACKET . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 8
- REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING
- Remove the brake pedal return spring.
- SEPARATE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS
- REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY
- Using a union nut wrench (10 mm), disconnect the front No. 3 brake line from the front flexible hose LH.

Do not kink or damage the brake line.
- Remove the 4 nuts and brake booster assembly.
NOTE:
Do not damage the brake lines.
- Using a union nut wrench (10 mm), disconnect the front No. 3 brake line from the front flexible hose LH.
- REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER GASKET
- Remove the brake booster gasket from the brake booster assembly.
- REMOVE BRAKE VACUUM CHECK VALVE ASSEMBLY
- Remove the brake vacuum check valve assembly from the brake booster assembly.
- REMOVE CHECK VALVE GROMMET
- Remove the check valve grommet from the brake booster assembly.
- REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS
- Remove the lock nut and brake master cylinder push rod clevis.
