DTC B1573: Short in Telephone Antenna Circuit; DTC B15CB: Telematics Transceiver Antenna Disconnected: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and wait for 10 seconds.
    4. Turn the Techstream on.
    5. Perform "HEALTH CHECK" and check for current DTCs. Refer to HEALTH CHECK .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B1573 or B15CB is output A
      DTC B1573 or B15CB is not output B

    B → See step   7 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disconnect the telephone and GPS antenna assembly connector from the telephone and GPS antenna cord (antenna cord sub-assembly).

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 1a Always 4 to 11 kΩ

      *1 Telephone and GPS Antenna Assembly

    NG → See step   5 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORDS (ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the telephone and GPS antenna cord (antenna cord sub-assembly) connector from the instrument panel wire (antenna cord sub-assembly).

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A-1 - B-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      A-1a - B-2a Always Below 1 Ω
      A-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      A-1a - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      *1 Telephone and GPS Antenna Cord (Antenna Cord Sub-assembly)

    NG → See step   9 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. INSPECT TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORDS (INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE) 
    1. Disconnect the instrument panel wire (antenna cord sub-assembly) connector from the DCM (Telematics Transceiver).

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      C-1 - D-2 Always Below 1 Ω
      C-1a - D-2a Always Below 1 Ω
      C-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      C-1a - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Instrument Panel Wire (Antenna Cord Sub-assembly)

    NG → REPLACE INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE (ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the telephone and GPS antenna assembly with a normal one and check if the same problem occurs again. Refer to REMOVAL .

      OK

      The system returns to normal.

    NG → See step   6 

    OK → END 

  6. REPLACE DCM (TELEMATICS TRANSCEIVER) 
    1. Replace the DCM (Telematics Transceiver). Refer to REMOVAL .
      NOTE:
      • The engine switch must be off.
      • Do not swap the DCM (Telematics Transceiver) with one from another vehicle.

  7. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  8. PERFORM DCM ACTIVATION. Refer to  DCM ACTIVATION 
  9. REPLACE TELEPHONE AND GPS ANTENNA CORD (ANTENNA CORD SUB-ASSEMBLY). Refer to  REMOVAL
