Satellite Switch Circuit: Procedure

  1. INSPECT SATELLITE SWITCH SET 
    1. Disconnect the J16 connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
      STANDARD RESISTANCE

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      2 (MSM-) - 5 (MSE) Satellite switch set LH is pressed Below 1 Ω
      2 (MSM-) - 5 (MSE) Satellite switch set LH is not pressed 10 kΩ or higher
      3 (MSSL) - 5 (MSE) Satellite switch set ON/OFF is pressed Below 1 Ω
      3 (MSSL) - 5 (MSE) Satellite switch set ON/OFF is not pressed 10 kΩ or higher
      4 (MSM+) - 5 (MSE) Satellite switch set RH is pressed Below 1 Ω
      4 (MSM+) - 5 (MSE) Satellite switch set RH is not pressed 10 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Component without harness connected
      (Satellite Switch Set)

    NG → See step   3 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - SATELLITE SWITCH SET) 
    1. Disconnect the J35 connector.
    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
      STANDARD RESISTANCE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J35-5 (VSW) - J16-4 (MSM+) Always Below 1 Ω
      J35-6 (MSW) - J16-2 (MSM-) Always Below 1 Ω
      J35-7 (SW) - J16-3 (MSSL) Always Below 1 Ω
      J16-2 (MSM-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J16-3 (MSSL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J16-4 (MSM+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   4 

  3. REPLACE SATELLITE SWITCH SET. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  4. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL
