Combination Meter: Removal: Removal

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL 
    WARNING:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

  2. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Manual Tilt and Manual Telescopic Steering Column)  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 1
  3. REMOVE STEERING COLUMN COVER (for Power Tilt and Power Telescopic Steering Column)  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 2
  4. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (w/o Illumination)  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 52
  5. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (w/ Illumination)  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 54
  6. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM COVER LH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 29
  7. REMOVE SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL LH  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 30
  8. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 32
  9. REMOVE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY 
    1. Disengage the 2 clips.

    2. Remove the 2 screws and remove the instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.

  10. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY  . Refer to REMOVAL - Step 3
  11. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Attach protective tape to the position indicated in the illustration.

    2. Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    3. Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw, pull out the combination meter assembly.

      HINT: 

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    4. Disconnect the connectors and remove the combination meter assembly as shown in the illustration.

      NOTE:

      Do not damage the instrument panel safety pad or combination meter assembly when removing the combination meter assembly.

  12. REMOVE COMBINATION METER GLASS 
    1. Disengage the 9 claws and remove the combination meter glass.
