Operation Check

  1. INSPECT INDICATOR/WARNING LIGHT 
    1. Check the following indicators and warning lights.
      Indicator/Warning Light Switch Condition Specified Condition
      BRAKE warning light Engine switch off → on (IG) Comes on for 3 seconds
      ABS warning light
      SLIP indicator light
      VSC OFF indicator light
      CRAWL indicator light*1
      Downhill assist control indicator light*2
      Eco driving indicator light
      PCS indicator light*3
      AFS OFF indicator light*4
      Master warning light
      Tire pressure warning light
      RSCA OFF indicator light
      Automatic high beam indicator light*5
      KDSS indicator light*6
      SRS warning light Engine switch off → on (IG) Comes on for 6 seconds
      CHARGE warning light Engine switch off → on (IG)
      • Illuminates when engine switch turned on (IG)
      • Turns off when engine started
      MIL
      • *1: w/ CRAWL Control
      • *2: w/ Downhill Assist Control
      • *3: w/ Pre-collision System
      • *4: w/ AFS
      • *5: w/ Automatic High Beam System
      • *6: w/ Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System
  2. INSPECT SPEEDOMETER 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List.

      20 mph 19 to 22 mph
      40 mph 39 to 42.5 mph
      60 mph 59 to 63.5 mph
      80 mph 79 to 84 mph
      100 mph 99 to 105 mph
      120 mph 119 to 125.5 mph
      FOR CANADA

      Standard Indication Acceptable Range
      20 km/h 18.5 to 22.5 km/h
      40 km/h 38 to 43.5 km/h
      60 km/h 58.5 to 64 km/h
      80 km/h 78 to 85 km/h
      100 km/h 98.5 to 106 km/h
      120 km/h 118.5 to 126.5 km/h
      160 km/h 158.5 to 168 km/h
      180 km/h 179 to 188.5 km/h

      If the result is not as specified, the speedometer may have a malfunction.

      NOTE:

      Do not use worn, underinflated or overinflated tires as the speedometer reading will be inaccurate.

    5. Check the deflection width of the speedometer indicator.

      Reference

      Within 0.3°

  3. INSPECT TACHOMETER 
    1. Connect a tune-up tachometer and start the engine.
    2. Compare the test results with the tachometer indicator.

      DC 13.5 V at 25°C (77°F)

      Standard Indication (rpm) Acceptable Range
      Data in () is for Reference
      700 630 to 770
      1000 (900 to 1100)
      2000 (1850 to 2150)
      3000 2800 to 3200
      4000 (3800 to 4200)
      5000 4800 to 5200
      6000 (5750 to 6250)

      If the result is not as specified, the tachometer may have a malfunction.

  4. INSPECT METER/GAUGE 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Perform the Active Test. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST .

      OK

      Each meter/gauge needle indication is normal.

  5. INSPECT WARNING/INDICATOR LIGHT 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Perform the Active Test. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST .

      OK

      Each warning/indicator light can be turned on and off using the Techstream.

  6. INSPECT MULTI-INFORMATION DISPLAY 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

    2. Perform the Active Test. Refer to DATA LIST / ACTIVE TEST .

      HINT: 

      If this Active Test is being performed and the engine switch is turned off and then on (IG), the ODO/TRIP display background may turn white. If this occurs, end the Active Test and turn the engine switch off.

      OK

      All dots in the multi-information display can be turned on and off using the Techstream.
