Speedometer Malfunction: Procedure
- CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
- Check if a CAN communication DTC is output. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM

- Check if a CAN communication DTC is output. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM

- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SPEED METER OPERATION)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
- Check the operation by referring to the table below.COMBINATION METER

There is a deviation in the values displayed on the speedometer (*1)

0, 40, 80, 120, 160, 200, 240 km/h*2 for Canada:
There is a deviation in the values displayed on the speedometer (*2)

- 40 → 38.8 to 43.3
- 80 → 79.6 to 84.6
- 120 → 120.6 to 125.6
- 160 → 161.6 to 166.6
- 200 → 202.6 to 207.6

- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (FR/FL/RR/RL WHEEL SPEED, VEHICLE SPEED METER)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus:
- for ABS/VSC/TRAC: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRAC / Data List.
- for Combination Meter: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data List.
- Check the values by referring to the table below.ABS/VSC/TRAC

- When the Data List values of the ECUs match, an internal malfunction of the combination meter assembly is suspected.
- When the Data List values of the ECUs do not match, a signal output error of the skid control ECU or an internal malfunction of the combination meter assembly is suspected.

- Replace the combination meter assembly with a new or a known good one. Refer to REMOVAL
