Hybrid System Indicator Malfunction: Procedure

  1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 
    1. Check for the DTC. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      CAN communication DTC is not output and hybrid system indicator has a malfunction. A
      CAN communication DTC is output. B

    B → See step   7 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (HV SYSTEM INDICATOR) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
    5. Check the indicator light operation according to the values in the table below.
      COMBINATION METER

      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      HV System Indicator HV System Indicator MIN, -50, 0, 100, 200, 300, 400, MAX -

      OK

      Hybrid system indicator indication is normal.

    NG → See step   5 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (HYBRID SYSTEM INDICATOR) 
    1. Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Data Test.
    5. Check the values by referring to the table below.
      COMBINATION METER

      Tester Display Test Part Control Range Diagnostic Note
      Hybrid System Indicator Hybrid system indicator value/ Min.: -512, Max.: 511 -512 to 511 -

      OK

      Hybrid system indicator value displayed on the Techstream is almost the same as hybrid system indicator indication.

    NG → See step   6 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the combination meter assembly with a new or a known good one. Refer to REMOVAL .

      OK

      The operation of the hybrid system indicator returns to normal.

    NG → See step   8 

    OK → END 

  5. REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  6. GO TO HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  7. GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  8. REPLACE POWER MANAGEMENT CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL
