DTC B159D: No Response from Operation Panel; DTC B15D9: Operation Panel Disconnected: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    2. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      B159D or B15D9 is output. A
      Either B159D or B15D9 and either B1597 or B15D6 are output. B
      No DTCs are output. C

    B → GO TO  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 

    C → END 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING) 
    1. Check for optional components.
      1. Check that optional components (including associated wiring) which generate radio waves are not installed.

        Result

        Result Proceed to
        Optional components (including associated wiring) are installed. A
        Optional components (including associated wiring) are not installed. B

        HINT: 

        • Electrical noise from radio waves generated by optional components or the wiring for those components may affect AVC-LAN communication.
        • This DTC may be stored when an AVC-LAN communication error occurs due to electrical noise.

    B → See step   4 

    A: Go to next step 

  3. REMOVE OPTIONAL COMPONENTS (INCLUDING ASSOCIATED WIRING) 
    1. Remove optional components (including associated wiring).
      NOTE:

      Do not remove optional components or associated wiring without the permission of the customer.

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK DTC 
    1. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    2. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

    NG → See step   5 

    OK → END 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (A/C CONTROL PANEL) POWER SOURCE) 
    1. Disconnect the G8 radio receiver assembly (A/C control panel) connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G8-9 (GND) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G8-8 (+B) - G8-9 (GND) Engine switch off 11 to 14 V
      G8-15 (IG+) - G8-9 (GND) Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
      G8-16 (ACC) - G8-9 (GND) Engine switch on (ACC) 11 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    1. Disconnect the G8 radio receiver assembly (A/C control panel) connector.

    2. Disconnect the G2 multi-display assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G8-5 (TX+) - G2-6 (TX1+) Always Below 1 Ω
      G8-13 (TX-) - G2-18 (TX1-) Always Below 1 Ω
      G8-5 (TX+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G8-13 (TX-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      (to Multi-display Assembly)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. REPLACE RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the radio receiver assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .
    2. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    3. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

    NG → See step   8 

    OK → END 

  8. REPLACE MULTI-DISPLAY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the multi-display assembly. Refer to REMOVAL .
    2. Clear the DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    3. Recheck for DTCs and check if the same DTC is output again.

      OK

      No DTCs are output.

    NG → See step   9 

    OK → END 

  9. REPLACE DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY. Refer to  REMOVAL
