How To Proceed With Troubleshooting

HINT: 

  1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP 

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE 
    1. Inspect the battery voltage.

      Standard Voltage

      11 to 14 V

      If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding to the next step.

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  3. DIAGNOSTIC QUESTIONING AND SYMPTOM CONFIRMATION 
    1. Ask the customer about symptoms and confirm malfunctions.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Other symptoms. A
      The screen displays nothing. B

      B → Go to   10  , AND PROCEED TO "BLACK SCREEN" 

      A: Go to next step 

  4. OPERATION CHECK 
    1. Refer to Check System Normal Condition. Refer to OPERATION CHECK .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Symptom is not normal operation. A
      Symptom is normal operation. B

      B → SYMPTOM IS NORMAL OPERATION 

      A: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM* 
    1. Check for DTC output. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output. A
      DTC is output. B

      B → GO TO  CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM 

      A: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK FOR DTC* 
    1. Refer to DTC Check / Clear. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is output. A
      DTC is not output. B

      HINT: 

      If more information is needed, perform a recheck using the "System Check Mode" screen after rechecking for DTCs using the Techstream. Refer to SYSTEM DESCRIPTION .

      B → Go to   10 

      A: Go to next step 

  7. DTC CLEAR* 
    1. Refer to the DTC Check / Clear. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .

      HINT: 

      The current DTCs may not indicate actual malfunctions depending on the vehicle operating conditions.

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  8. RECHECK FOR DTC* 

    Result

    Result Proceed to
    DTC is output. A
    DTC is not output. B

    HINT: 

    • Even if the malfunction symptom is not confirmed, check for DTCs. This is because the system stores past DTCs.
    • If more information is needed, perform a recheck using the "System Check Mode" screen after rechecking for DTCs using the Techstream. Refer to SYSTEM DESCRIPTION .
    • Check the DTC and inspect the area code indicates.

    B → Go to step   10 

    A: Go to next step 

  9. DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 
    1. Find the output code in Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART .
      NOTE:
      • The navigation system outputs DTCs for the following systems.
      • When DTCs other than those in the Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart for the navigation system are output, refer to the Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart for the relevant system.
      • Audio and visual system (w/ navigation system). Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART
      • Parking assist monitor system. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART
      • Side monitor system (w/ Parking assist monitor system). Refer to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs for the navigation system are output. A
      DTCs for the audio and visual system (w/ navigation system) are output. B
      DTCs for the parking assist monitor system are output. C
      DTCs for the side monitor system (w/ parking assist monitor system) are output. D

      A → Go to step   12 

      B → GO TO  AUDIO AND VISUAL SYSTEM (W/ NAVIGATION SYSTEM) 

      C → GO TO  PARKING ASSIST MONITOR SYSTEM 

      D → GO TO  SIDE MONITOR SYSTEM (W/ PARKING ASSIST MONITOR SYSTEM) 

  10. PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
    1. Refer to Problem Symptoms Table. Refer to PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Fault is not listed in Problem Symptoms Table. A
      Fault is listed in Problem Symptoms Table. B

      HINT: 

      If the symptom does not recur and no DTC is output, perform the symptom reproduction method. Refer to HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING .

      B → Go to   12 

      A: Go to next step 

  11. PERFORM TROUBLESHOOTING BASED ON THE MALFUNCTION SYMPTOM 
    1. Refer to Terminals of ECU. Refer to TERMINALS OF ECU .

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  12. CHECK THE CIRCUIT 
    1. Adjust, repair or replace as necessary.

      NEXT: Go to next step 

  13. RECHECK FOR DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE 

    HINT: 

    After clearing the DTCs, recheck for DTCs.

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  14. PERFORM CONFIRMATION TEST 

    NEXT → END
