DESCRIPTION
* The combination meter detects the state of the front seat inner belt RH when the front passenger seat is occupied with the engine switch on (IG). If the front passenger seat belt is not fastened, the front passenger side seat belt warning light of the heater control switch board*1 or display and navigation module display*2 blinks. If the seat belt is fastened, the warning light goes off.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
The seat belt warning system uses the CAN communication system. First, confirm that there is no malfunction in the CAN communication system. Refer to the How to Proceed with Troubleshooting procedure Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK FOR DTC
(a) for Airbag System:
(1) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(2) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(b) for Occupant Classification System:
(1) Clear the DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
(2) Check for DTCs Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.
Result
C -- GO TO OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM Occupant Classification System
B -- GO TO AIRBAG SYSTEM Airbag System
A -- Continue to next step.
2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT)
(a) Operate the Techstream according to the display and select Active Test Scan Tool Testing and Procedures.

3. INSPECT HEATER CONTROL SWITCH BOARD
(a) Remove the heater control switch board Disassembly.
(b) Apply battery voltage to the heater control switch board.
(c) Check that the front passenger side seat belt warning light comes on.
OK:
NG -- REPLACE HEATER CONTROL SWITCH BOARD Disassembly
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - HEATER CONTROL SWITCH BOARD, BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the G3 meter connector.
(b) Disconnect the H32 heater control switch board connector.
(c) Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal
5. INSPECT DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY
(a) Remove the display and navigation module display Removal.
(b) Apply battery voltage to the display and navigation module display.
(c) Check that the front passenger side seat belt warning light comes on.
OK:
NG -- REPLACE DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY Removal
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY, BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)
(a) Disconnect the G3 meter connector.
(b) Disconnect the H4 and H8 display connectors.
(c) Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal
