Part 1





INTERIOR PANELS / TRIM: ROOF HEADLINING: REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

NOTICE:
* w/ Navigation System:
After the engine switch is turned off, the display and navigation module display (navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the engine switch off, be sure to wait for the time specified in the following table before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

Waiting Time before Disconnecting Cable from Negative (-) Battery Terminal:





* When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

2. REMOVE REAR NO. 2 SEAT ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)

(a) Remove the rear No. 2 seat assembly Removal.

3. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT ASSEMBLY

(a) for 60/40 Split Slide Walk-in Seat Type LH Side:

Remove the rear No. 1 seat assembly Removal.

(b) for 60/40 Split Slide Walk-in Seat Type RH Side:

Remove the rear No. 1 seat assembly Removal.

4. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEATBACK ASSEMBLY

(a) for 60/40 Split Double-folding Seat Type LH Side:

Remove the rear No. 1 seatback assembly Removal.

(b) for 60/40 Split Double-folding Seat Type RH Side:

Remove the rear No. 1 seatback assembly Removal.

5. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY LH





(a) Put protective tape around the door scuff plate.

(b) w/o Illumination:

(1) Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 clips, 10 claws and 2 guides and remove the door scuff plate.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(c) w/ Illumination:

(1) Using a screwdriver, detach the 4 clips, 10 claws and 2 guides.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

(2) Disconnect the connector and remove the door scuff plate.

6. REMOVE DOOR SCUFF PLATE ASSEMBLY RH

HINT
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

7. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH





(a) Remove the clip.

(b) Detach the clip and claw and remove the cowl side trim board.

8. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH

HINT
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

9. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH





(a) Remove the front door opening trim weatherstrip.

10. REMOVE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH

Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

11. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ASSIST GRIP PLUG LH





HINT
Use the same procedure for the other front No. 1 assist grip plug.

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the front No. 1 assist grip plug.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

12. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ASSIST GRIP PLUG RH

HINT
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

13. REMOVE NO. 1 ASSIST GRIP





HINT
Use the same procedure for the other No. 1 assist grip.

(a) Remove the 2 bolts.

(b) Detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 1 assist grip.

14. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH





(a) Detach the 3 guides and remove the front pillar garnish.





Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.

(1) Completely cover the airbag with a cloth or nylon sheet and secure the ends of the cover with adhesive tape as shown in the illustration.

NOTICE:
Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.

15. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH

Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

16. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 FLOOR STEP COVER (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)





HINT
Use the same procedure for all rear No. 1 floor step covers.

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the rear No. 1 floor step cover.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

17. REMOVE QUARTER SCUFF PLATE LH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)





(a) Remove the 2 bolts and quarter scuff plate.

18. REMOVE QUARTER SCUFF PLATE RH (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)

Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

19. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH





(a) Put protective tape around the rear door scuff plate.

(b) Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 clips, 6 claws and 2 guides and remove the rear door scuff plate.

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

20. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH

21. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH





(a) Remove the rear door opening trim weatherstrip.

22. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH

23. REMOVE OUTER LAP BELT ANCHOR COVER





HINT
Use the same procedure for the other outer lap belt anchor cover.

(a) Detach the 3 claws and remove the outer lap belt anchor cover.

24. REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH





(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the front seat outer belt floor anchor.





Detach the 4 claws and 2 clips and remove the lower center pillar garnish.

25. REMOVE LOWER CENTER PILLAR GARNISH RH

Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

26. REMOVE NO. 2 ASSIST GRIP PLUG LH





HINT
Use the same procedure for the other front No. 2 assist grip plug.

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the front No. 2 assist grip plug.

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

27. REMOVE NO. 2 ASSIST GRIP PLUG RH

Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

28. REMOVE NO. 2 ASSIST GRIP





HINT
Use the same procedure for the other No. 2 assist grip.

(a) Remove the 2 bolts.

(b) Detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 2 assist grip.

29. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH LH





(a) Move the front shoulder belt anchor adjuster to the lowest position.

(b) Remove the bolt.

(c) Detach the 2 clips and 2 guides.

(d) Pass the front seat outer belt floor anchor through the center pillar garnish and remove the center pillar garnish.

30. REMOVE CENTER PILLAR GARNISH RH

Use the same procedure described for the LH side.

31. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Tonneau Cover)

(a) Remove the tonneau cover.

32. REMOVE FRONT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)





HINT
Use the same procedure for the other front luggage compartment trim cover.

(a) Detach the 4 claws and remove the cap.





Remove the bolt, luggage hold belt striker and front luggage compartment trim cover.

33. REMOVE NO. 1 DECK BOARD SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)





(a) Detach the clip and remove the No. 1 deck board.

34. REMOVE REAR FLOOR MAT REAR SUPPORT PLATE (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)





(a) Detach the 5 clips and 4 claws and remove the rear floor mat rear support plate.

35. REMOVE REAR FLOOR CARPET ASSEMBLY (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat)





(a) Detach the 4 claws and remove the rear floor carpet.

36. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT OUTER LAP BELT ANCHOR COVER





HINT
Use the same procedure for the other rear No. 1 seat outer lap belt anchor cover.

(a) Detach the 3 claws and remove the rear No. 1 seat outer lap belt anchor cover.

37. REMOVE NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM HOOK





HINT
Use the same procedure for the other No. 1 luggage compartment trim hook.

(a) Remove the luggage compartment trim hook by turning it clockwise.

38. REMOVE NO. 1 TONNEAU COVER HOLDER CAP (w/o Tonneau Cover)





HINT
Use the same procedure for the other No. 1 tonneau cover holder cap.

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 1 tonneau cover holder cap.

HINT
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

39. REMOVE FRONT DECK SIDE TRIM COVER (w/ Tonneau Cover)





HINT
Use the same procedure for the other front deck side trim cover.

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the front deck side trim cover.

Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

40. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP PLUG (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)





HINT
Use the same procedure for all assist grip plugs.

(a) Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the assist grip plug.

41. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Rear No. 2 Seat)





HINT
Use the same procedure for the other assist grip.

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and assist grip.

42. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK LOCK CONTROL LEVER BASE LH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat) Removal

43. REMOVE REAR SEATBACK LOCK CONTROL LEVER BASE RH (w/o Rear No. 2 Seat) Removal

44. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH

(a) w/o Rear No. 2 Seat:





Remove the bolt and disconnect the rear No. 1 seat outer belt floor anchor.

(1) Remove the 4 bolts and 2 screws.

(2) Detach the 5 clips and 8 claws and remove the deck trim side panel.





(b) w/ Rear No. 2 Seat:





Remove the bolt and disconnect the rear No. 1 seat outer belt floor anchor.





Remove the bolt and disconnect the rear No. 2 seat outer belt floor anchor.

(1) Remove the 2 bolts and 2 screws.

(2) Detach the 3 clips and 8 claws.

(3) Disconnect each connector and remove the deck trim side panel.
