DTC P0872: Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor / Switch "C" Circuit Low; DTC P0873: Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor / Switch "C" Circuit High (FROM 08/2009): Procedure

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / ECT / Trouble Codes.
5. Read the DTCs using the Techstream.

   Result

   Display (DTC Output)	Proceed to
   Only "P0873" is output	A
   Only "P0872" is output	B
   "P0872 or P0873" and other DTCs are output	C

   HINT: 

   If a solenoid is stuck OFF, DTCs for several solenoids including the malfunctioning solenoid will be detected.

1. Remove the TCM.

2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   10 (TPS1) - Body ground (Valve body assembly) or other terminals	Always	10 kΩ or higher

   Result

   NG	A

A: Go to next step 

1. Remove the oil strainer assembly.
2. Disconnect the transmission wire connector from the ATF temperature sensor assembly.

3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   3 (TPS1) - Body ground (Valve body assembly) or other terminals	Always	10 kΩ or higher

NG → See step   10 

OK → See step   6 

1. Remove the oil strainer assembly.
2. Remove the TCM.

3. Disconnect the connector from the ATF temperature sensor assembly.
4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   10 (TPS1) TCM side - 3 (TPS1) sensor side	Always	Below 1 Ω
   3 (TPS1) sensor side - Body ground (Valve body assembly) or other terminals	Always	10 kΩ or higher

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Start the engine and turn the Techstream on.
3. Enter the following menus: / ECT / DTC / Clear.

   HINT: 

   Write down the currently output DTCs before clearing them.

4. Perform the monitor drive pattern. Refer to MONITOR DRIVE PATTERN .
5. Enter the following menus: / ECT / DTC.
6. Read the DTCs using the Techstream.

   Result
