Removal (To 08/2009): Removal

WARNING:

Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing. Refer to PRECAUTION .

NOTE:

Before disconnecting the air tube, press the height control OFF switch to stop the vehicle height control operation.

HINT: 



  1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL 
  2. REMOVE COWL TOP SILENCER PAD  See step  2
  3. REMOVE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER CAP 
    1. Remove the 3 nuts and the front shock absorber cap.

  4. DISCONNECT NO. 4 HEIGHT CONTROL TUBE 
    1. Separate the height control tube clamp from the No. 4 height control tube.

      NOTE:

      Make sure to hold the front pneumatic with shock absorber cylinder assembly chamber by hand.

    2. Disconnect the No. 4 height control tube from the front pneumatic with shock absorber cylinder assembly by loosening the nut.

      NOTE:

      Keep the chamber of the front pneumatic with shock absorber cylinder assembly unmoved by holding it by hand.

      HINT: 

      For the disconnecting procedure of the height control tube (type 1), refer to Precaution of Suspension Control System. Refer to PRECAUTION .

  5. REMOVE NO. 4 HEIGHT CONTROL TUBE O-RING 
    1. Remove the 2 O-rings from No. 4 height control tube.

      *1 O-Ring
  6. SEPARATE FRONT SPEED SENSOR  See step  4
  7. SEPARATE FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY  See step  5
  8. REMOVE FRONT PNEUMATIC WITH SHOCK ABSORBER CYLINDER ASSEMBLY 
    1. Support the front axle using a jack and wooden block.

      *1 Front of the Vehicle
      *2 Wooden Block
      *3 Jack
    2. Loosen the 2 bolts and 2 nuts, and separate the front pneumatic with shock absorber cylinder assembly (lower side) from the steering knuckle.

      NOTE:
      • When removing the nuts, keep the bolts from rotating.
      • Do not remove the 2 bolts.
    3. Remove the height control clamp from the front pneumatic with shock absorber cylinder assembly.

    4. Slowly lower the jack, and remove the 3 nuts (upper side), 2 bolts (lower side) and front pneumatic with shock absorber cylinder assembly.

      NOTE:

      Make sure that the front speed sensor is completely separated from the front pneumatic with shock absorber cylinder assembly.

  9. REMOVE FRONT PNEUMATIC CYLINDER INNER COVER 
    1. Using a screwdriver, release the clamp's lock of the 2 bands and remove the 2 bands as shown in the illustration.

    2. Remove the front pneumatic cylinder inner cover from the front pneumatic with shock absorber cylinder sub-assembly.
