On-Vehicle Inspection
- CHECK ENGINE OIL LEVEL
- Warm up and stop the engine, then wait for 5 minutes. The oil level should be between the low level and full level marks on the engine oil level dipstick.
If the engine oil level is low, check for leakage and add oil up to the full level mark.
NOTE:Do not add engine oil to above the full level mark.

- CHECK ENGINE OIL
- Check the engine oil for deterioration, water contamination, discoloring or thinning.
If the condition is visibly poor, replace the engine oil and engine oil filter.
- Check the engine oil for deterioration, water contamination, discoloring or thinning.
- INSPECT ENGINE OIL PRESSURE SWITCH ASSEMBLY
- Remove the oil pressure switch. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Install the oil pressure gauge with the adapter.
- Warm up the engine.
- Check the oil pressure.
Standard Oil Pressure
Engine Condition Oil Pressure Idle 80 kPa (0.8 kgf/cm2 , 11.6 psi) or more 3000 RPM 380 kPa (3.9 kgf/cm2 , 55 psi) or more If the oil pressure is not as specified, check the oil pump. Refer to INSPECTION .
- Remove the oil pressure gauge with the adapter.
- Install the oil pressure switch. Refer to INSTALLATION .
