Visual Mute Signal Circuit between Navigation ECU and Multi-display (To 8/2009): Procedure

  1. INSPECT MULTI-DISPLAY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G2-11 (VMTI) - Body ground Engine switch on (ACC), screen display on → screen display changes. 3.5 V or higher → Below 1 V → 3.5 V or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Multi-display Assembly)

    NG → See step   3 

    OK → See step   2 

  2. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE 
  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    1. Disconnect the multi-display assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the display and navigation module display connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G2-11 (VMTI) - G5-11 (VMTF) Always Below 1 Ω
      G2-11 (VMTI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Multi-display Assembly)
      *2 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Display and Navigation Module Display)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. REPLACE MULTI-DISPLAY ASSEMBLY 
    1. Replace the multi-display assembly and check if it operates normally. Refer to REMOVAL .

      OK

      The navigation system operates normally.

    NG → See step   5 

    OK → END 

  5. REPLACE DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY. Refer to  REMOVAL
