DVD Image Signal Circuit between Navigation ECU and Multi-display (To 8/2009): Procedure

  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    1. Disconnect the display and navigation module display connector.

    2. Disconnect the multi-display assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G5-10 (NTSF) - G2-4 (NTSC) Always Below 1 Ω
      G5-21 (SGD1) - G2-16 (SG) Always Below 1 Ω
      G5-10 (NTSF) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G5-21 (SGD1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      G5-22 (SLD1) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Display and Navigation Module Display)
      *2 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Multi-display Assembly)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY 
    1. Reconnect the display and navigation module display connector.

    2. Measure the waveform according to the table below.

      OSCILLOSCOPE WAVEFORM

      Item Content
      Measurement terminal G5-10 (NTSF) - Body ground
      Measurement setting 200 mV/DIV, 10 μs/DIV
      Condition DVD display is on
      NOTE:

      The video waveform changes according to the image output from the display and navigation module display to multi-display assembly, but the synchronization signal does not change.

    NG → See step   3 

    OK → See step   4 

  3. REPLACE DISPLAY AND NAVIGATION MODULE DISPLAY. Refer to  REMOVAL 
  4. PROCEED TO NEXT SUSPECTED AREA SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE. Refer to  PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
