Interior Foot Light does not Illuminate: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DOOR COURTESY SWITCH) 
    1. Using the Techstream, read the Data List.
      MAIN BODY

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (FRONT INTERIOR FOOT LIGHT) 
    1. Using the Techstream, perform the Active Test.
      MAIN BODY

      Step Light Operation Front interior foot light illumination operation OFF/ON -

      OK

      Front interior foot light condition can be switched by Active Test.

    NG → See step   3 

    OK → REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

  3. CONFIRM LIGHT POSITION 
    1. Check the malfunctioning interior foot light.
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      Front interior foot light LH A
      Front interior foot light RH B
      Rear interior foot light LH C
      Rear interior foot light RH D
      All does not light illuminate E

    E → REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

    D → See step   13 

    C → See step   10 

    B → See step   7 

    A: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT INTERIOR FOOT LIGHT LH - BATTERY)

    1. Disconnect the E81 light connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E81-2 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. INSPECT NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT LH (FRONT INTERIOR FOOT LIGHT LH)

    1. Remove the front interior foot light LH. Refer to INSPECTION - Step 1 .
    2. Apply battery voltage to the front interior foot light and check the light condition.

      OK

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 2
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1
      Interior illumination light comes on

    NG → See step   24 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - FRONT INTERIOR FOOT LIGHT LH)

    1. Disconnect the E3 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the E81 light connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E3-11 (FSPT) - E81-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      E81-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT INTERIOR FOOT LIGHT RH - BATTERY)

    1. Disconnect the E88 light connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E88-2 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  8. INSPECT NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT RH (FRONT INTERIOR FOOT RH)

    1. Remove the front interior foot light RH. Refer to INSPECTION .
    2. Apply battery voltage to the front interior foot light and check the light condition.

      OK

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 2
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1
      Interior illumination light comes on

    NG → See step   25 

    OK: Go to next step 

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - FRONT INTERIOR FOOT LIGHT RH)

    1. Disconnect the E3 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the E88 light connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E3-11 (FSPT) - E88-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      E88-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR INTERIOR FOOT LIGHT LH - BATTERY)

    1. Disconnect the c32 light connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      c32-2 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  11. INSPECT INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT LH (REAR INTERIOR FOOT LIGHT LH)

    1. Remove the rear interior foot light LH. Refer to INSPECTION - Step 1 .
    2. Apply battery voltage to the rear interior foot light and check the light condition.

      OK

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 2
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1
      Interior illumination light comes on

    NG → See step   26 

    OK: Go to next step 

  12. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - REAR INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT LH)

    1. Disconnect the E3 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the c32 light connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E3-11 (FSPT) - c32-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      c32-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

  13. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR INTERIOR FOOT LIGHT RH - BATTERY)

    1. Remove the c44 ECU connector.
    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      c44-2 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  14. INSPECT INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT RH (REAR INTERIOR FOOT LIGHT RH)

    1. Remove the rear interior foot light RH. Refer to INSPECTION - Step 1 .
    2. Apply battery voltage to the rear interior foot light and check the light condition.

      OK

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 2
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1
      Interior illumination light comes on

    NG → See step   27 

    OK: Go to next step 

  15. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - REAR INTERIOR FOOT LIGHT RH)

    1. Disconnect the E3 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the c44 light connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E3-11 (FSPT) - c44-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      c44-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

  16. INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH LH 
    1. Remove the front door courtesy light switch LH. Refer to INSPECTION - Step 1 .

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - Body ground Not pushed Below 1 Ω
      pushed 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → See step   28 

    OK: Go to next step 

  17. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH LH - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the K2 switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the E1 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K2-1 - E1-24 (DCTY) Always Below 1 Ω
      K2-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

  18. INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH RH 
    1. Remove the front door courtesy light switch RH. Refer to INSPECTION - Step 1 .

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - Body ground Not pushed Below 1 Ω
      pushed 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → See step   29 

    OK: Go to next step 

  19. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH RH - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the L1 switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the E2 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L1-1 - E2-21 (PCTY) Always Below 1 Ω
      L1-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

  20. INSPECT REAR DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH LH 
    1. Remove the rear door courtesy light switch LH. Refer to INSPECTION - Step 1 .

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - Body ground Not pushed Below 1 Ω
      pushed 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → See step   30 

    OK: Go to next step 

  21. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH LH - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the K3 switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the 2C ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K3-1 - 2C-2 (LCTY) Always Below 1 Ω
      K3-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

  22. INSPECT REAR DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH RH 
    1. Remove the rear door courtesy light switch RH. Refer to INSPECTION - Step 1 .

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - Body ground Not pushed Below 1 Ω
      pushed 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → See step   31 

    OK: Go to next step 

  23. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH RH - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the L2 switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the E2 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L2-1 - E2-7 (RCTY) Always Below 1 Ω
      L2-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

  24. REPLACE NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT LH (FRONT INTERIOR FOOT LIGHT LH). Refer to  REMOVAL 
  25. REPLACE NO. 1 INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT RH (FRONT INTERIOR FOOT LIGHT RH). Refer to  REMOVAL 
  26. REPLACE INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT LH (REAR INTERIOR FOOT LIGHT LH). Refer to  REMOVAL 
  27. REPLACE INTERIOR ILLUMINATION LIGHT RH (REAR INTERIOR FOOT LIGHT RH). Refer to  REMOVAL 
  28. REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH LH. Refer to  REMOVAL - Step 1 
  29. REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH RH. Refer to  REMOVAL - Step 1 
  30. REPLACE REAR DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH LH. Refer to  REMOVAL - Step 1
