Inside Handle Light does not Illuminate: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH) 
    1. Using the Techstream, read the Data List.

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT) 
    1. Using the Techstream, perform the Active Test.

      Inside handle illumination light condition is switched by Active Test.

  3. CONFIRM LIGHT POSITION 
    1. Check the malfunctioning Inside handle illumination light.

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT LH - BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the I21 light connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I21-1 (+B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. INSPECT FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT LH

    1. Remove the front door inside handle illumination light LH. Refer to INSPECTION - Step 1 .
    2. Apply battery voltage to the inside handle illumination light and check the illumination condition.

      OK

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (+B)
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2 (GND)
      Inside handle illumination light on

    NG → See step   17 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 MAIN BODY ECU - FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT LH)

    1. Disconnect the L33 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the I21 light connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I21-2 (GND) - L33-6 (LSPT) Always Below 1 Ω
      I21-2 (GND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   18 

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT RH - BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the I20 light connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I20-1 (+B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  8. INSPECT FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT RH

    1. Remove the front door inside handle illumination light RH. Refer to INSPECTION - Step 1 .
    2. Apply battery voltage to the inside handle illumination light and check the illumination condition.

      OK

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (+B)
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2 (GND)
      Inside handle illumination light on

    NG → See step   19 

    OK: Go to next step 

  9. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 MAIN BODY ECU - FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT RH)

    1. Disconnect the L33 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the I20 light connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      I20-2 (GND) - L33-6 (LSPT) Always Below 1 Ω
      I20-2 (GND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   20 

  10. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT LH - BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the J18 light connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J18-1 (+B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  11. INSPECT REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT LH

    1. Remove the rear door inside handle illumination light LH. Refer to INSPECTION - Step 1 .
    2. Apply battery voltage to the inside handle illumination light and check the illumination condition.

      OK

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (+B)
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2 (GND)
      Inside handle illumination light on

    NG → See step   21 

    OK: Go to next step 

  12. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 MAIN BODY ECU - REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT LH)

    1. Disconnect the L33 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the J18 light connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J18-2 (GND) - L33-6 (LSPT) Always Below 1 Ω
      J18-2 (GND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   22 

  13. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT RH - BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the J16 light connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J16-1 (+B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  14. INSPECT REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT RH

    1. Remove the rear door inside handle illumination light RH. Refer to INSPECTION - Step 1 .
    2. Apply battery voltage to the inside handle illumination light and check the illumination condition.

      OK

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1 (+B)
      Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2 (GND)
      Inside handle illumination light on

    NG → See step   23 

    OK: Go to next step 

  15. CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 MAIN BODY ECU - REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT RH)

    1. Disconnect the L33 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the J16 light connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J16-2 (GND) - L33-6 (LSPT) Always Below 1 Ω
      J16-2 (GND) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → See step   24 

  16. REPLACE NO. 2 MAIN BODY ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL - Step 90 
  17. REPLACE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT LH. Refer to  REMOVAL - Step 5 
  18. REPLACE NO. 2 MAIN BODY ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL - Step 90 
  19. REPLACE FRONT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT RH. Refer to  REMOVAL - Step 5 
  20. REPLACE NO. 2 MAIN BODY ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL - Step 90 
  21. REPLACE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT LH. Refer to  REMOVAL - Step 4 
  22. REPLACE NO. 2 MAIN BODY ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL - Step 90 
  23. REPLACE REAR DOOR INSIDE HANDLE ILLUMINATION LIGHT RH. Refer to  REMOVAL - Step 4 
  24. REPLACE NO. 2 MAIN BODY ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL - Step 90 
  25. INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH LH 
    1. Remove the front door courtesy light switch LH. Refer to INSPECTION - Step 1 .

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - Body ground Not pushed Below 1 Ω
      Pushed 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → See step   33 

    OK: Go to next step 

  26. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH LH - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the K2 switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the E1 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K2-1 - E1-24 (DCTY) Always Below 1 Ω
      K2-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

  27. INSPECT FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH RH 
    1. Remove the front door courtesy light switch RH. Refer to INSPECTION - Step 1 .

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - Body ground Not pushed Below 1 Ω
      Pushed 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → See step   34 

    OK: Go to next step 

  28. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH RH - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the L1 switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the E2 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L1-1 - E2-21 (PCTY) Always Below 1 Ω
      L1-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

  29. INSPECT REAR DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH LH 
    1. Remove the rear door courtesy light switch LH. Refer to INSPECTION - Step 1 .

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - Body ground Not pushed Below 1 Ω
      Pushed 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → See step   35 

    OK: Go to next step 

  30. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH LH - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the K3 switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the 2C ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      K3-1 - 2C-2 (LCTY) Always Below 1 Ω
      K3-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

  31. INSPECT REAR DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH RH 
    1. Remove the rear door courtesy light switch RH. Refer to INSPECTION - Step 1 .

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      1 - Body ground Not pushed Below 1 Ω
      Pushed 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → See step   36 

    OK: Go to next step 

  32. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH RH - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND) 
    1. Disconnect the L2 switch connector.

    2. Disconnect the E2 ECU connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      L2-1 - E2-7 (RCTY) Always Below 1 Ω
      L2-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

  33. REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH LH. Refer to  REMOVAL - Step 1 
  34. REPLACE FRONT DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH RH. Refer to  REMOVAL - Step 1 
  35. REPLACE REAR DOOR COURTESY LIGHT SWITCH LH. Refer to  REMOVAL - Step 1
