DTC C1783: Speed Signal Communication Error: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC (AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM) 
    1. Clear the DTC. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    2. Perform a road test.
    3. Check if DTC C1783 and U0122 are output. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      DTC is output B

    B → See step   4 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK DTC (BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM) 
    1. Check if DTC C1783 and a brake control system speed sensor malfunction DTC (C0200/31, C0205/32, C0210/33, C0215/35, C1236/36, C1238/38 or C1239/39) are output. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
      RESULT

      Result Proceed to
      DTC is not output A
      DTC is output B

    B → See step   5 

    A: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL (DATA LIST) 
    1. Turn the power switch OFF.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the power switch ON (IG) and the Techstream ON.
    4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Air suspension / Data List.
    5. Using the Techstream, read the DATA LIST.

      Vehicle speed indicated on the Techstream screen indicates the actual speed.

  4. GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM (HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING). Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  5. GO TO BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART). Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 
  6. GO TO BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM (HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING). Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  7. REPLACE SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL
