DTC P2532-772: Ignition Switch Run Position Circuit High: Procedure

  1. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    4. Read and record the DTCs and freeze frame data.
    5. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    6. Clear DTCs and freeze frame data.

    NEXT: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV) 
    1. Leave the vehicle for 15 seconds or more with the power switch on (IG) after clearing DTCs.

      HINT: 

      Leaving the vehicle for 15 seconds or more is required to detect DTC U0140-146.

    2. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    3. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Either of the following is met:
      • U0140-146 is also output.
      • U0140-146 is not output but P2532-772 is output.
      A
      U0140-146 and P2532-772 are output. B
      Only DTCs other than U0140-146 and P2532-772 are output. C
      No DTC is output. D

    D → See step   7 

    C → See step   13 

    B → See step   12 

    A: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK FUSE (D-IG1-3) 
    1. Remove the D-IG1-3 fuse from the driver side junction block.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      D-IG1-3 Fuse Power switch off Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPLACE FUSE (D-IG1-3) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT (DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK) 
    1. Power switch off.

    2. Disconnect connector DF from the driver side junction block.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      DF-1 - Body ground Power switch off 11 to 14 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK - AUXILIARY BATTERY) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK POWER SOURCE CIRCUIT (PASSENGER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK) 
    1. Power switch off.

    2. Connect connector PA to the passenger side junction block.
    3. Power switch on (IG).
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      PA-53 - Body ground Power switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V

      HINT: 

      Measure from the back of the connector with the connector connected.

    NG → CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (PASSENGER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  6. CHECK WIRE HARNESS AND CONNECTOR 
    1. Power switch off.

    2. Disconnect connector DA from the driver side junction block.
    3. Power switch on (IG).
    4. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      DA-40 - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK 

  7. CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV) 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Leave the vehicle for 1.5 seconds or more.

      HINT: 

      Leaving the vehicle for 1.5 seconds or more is required to detect DTC P2532-772.

    3. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    4. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
    5. Check if DTCs are output.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      P2532-772 is output. A
      P2532-772 is not output. B

    B → See step   14 

    A: Go to next step 

  8. CHECK HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU 
    1. Turn the power switch off.

    2. Disconnect connector A74 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A74-4 (IGSW) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 V

    NG → See step   9 

    OK → See step   15 

  9. CHECK RELAY (IG2 RELAY) 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Remove the IG2 relay from the engine room No. 2 relay block.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      A74-4 (IGSW) - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  10. INSPECT PCV RELAY (IG2 RELAY) 
    1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      1 - 2 Always 130 to 235 Ω
      3 - 5 Auxiliary battery voltage is not applied between terminals 1 and 2. 10 kΩ or higher
      Auxiliary battery voltage is applied between terminals 1 and 2. Below 1 Ω

    NG → REPLACE RELAY (IG2 RELAY) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK - IG2 RELAY) 
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Disconnect connector L12 from the driver side junction block.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      Engine room No. 2 relay block IG2 relay terminal 1 - Body ground Power switch off Below 1 V

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK 

  12. GO TO DTC CHART (U0140-146). Refer to  DTC U0100-211: Lost Communication with ECM / PCM "A"; DTC U0100-212: Lost Communication with ECM / PCM "A"; DTC U0100-530: Lost Communication with ECM / PCM "A"; DTC U0129-220: Lost Communication with Brake System Control Module; DTC U0129-222: Lost Communication with Brake System Control Module; DTC U0129-527: Lost Communication with Brake System Control Module; DTC U0129-528: Lost Communication with Brake System Control Module; DTC U0131-433: Lost Communication with Power Steering Control Module; DTC U0131-434: Lost Communication with Power Steering Control Module; DTC U0140-146: Lost Communication with Body Control Module; DTC U0151-763: Lost Communication with Airbag ECU; DTC U0164-594: Lost Communication with A/C ECU; DTC U0164-827: Lost Communication with A/C ECU  
  13. GO TO DTC CHART. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 
  14. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS. Refer to  CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS 
  15. REPLACE HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU. Refer to  COMPONENTS
