DTC P0990-897: Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor / Switch "E" Circuit High: Procedure
- CHECK DTC OUTPUT (HV)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).
- Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
- Check if DTCs are output.
Result
Result Proceed to P0990-897 only is output. A Any of the following DTCs are also output. B DTC No. Relevant Diagnosis P0867-876, P0867-878, P0867-882 Transmission Fluid Pressure

- CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR)
- Check the connections of the hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors.
OK
The connectors are connected securely and there are no contact problems.
NG → CONNECT SECURELY
OK: Go to next step
- Check the connections of the hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors.
- CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (TRANSMISSION WIRE CONNECTOR)
- Check the connection of the transmission wire connector.
OK
The connector is connected securely and there are no contact problems.
NG → CONNECT SECURELY
OK: Go to next step
- Check the connection of the transmission wire connector.
- CHECK PB3 OIL PRESSURE SWITCH (SW3)
- Disconnect connector E55 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance (Check for short)
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition E55-20 (PB3) - Body ground Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher

- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (LINE PRESSURE)
- Connect connector E55 to the hybrid vehicle control ECU.
- Disconnect the transmission wire connector.
- Turn the power switch on (IG).NOTE:
Turning the power switch on (IG) with the hybrid vehicle control ECU connector disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.
- Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / Line Pressure.
- Read the data list.
OK
Tester Display Condition Specified Condition Line Pressure E61-8 (PB3) is connected to body ground ON E61-8 (PB3) is not connected to body ground OFF

- CLEAR DTC
- Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
- Read and record the DTCs and freeze frame data.
- Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Trouble Codes.
- Clear DTCs and freeze frame data.

- SIMULATION TEST
- Turn the power switch on (READY).
- Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Active Test / Control the Shift Position.
- Select the following menu items: All Data / B1 Oil Pressure, B2 Oil Pressure, Line Pressure, Line Pressure Solenoid.
- Perform the "Control the Shift Position" active test.
