  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (T/M OIL TEMPERATURE)
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    3. Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Hybrid Control / Data List / T/M Oil Temperature.
    4. Read the data list.

      OK

      Tester Display Condition Tester Display
T/M Oil Temperature Vehicle has been left for 24 hours Approximately equal to ambient temperature

    NG → See step   3

    OK: Go to next step

  2. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS
    1. Check for intermittent problems. Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS .

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA

    OK → See step   9

  3. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (HYBRID VEHICLE CONTROL ECU CONNECTOR)
    1. Check the connections of the hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors.

      OK

The connectors are connected securely and there are no contact problems.

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY

    OK: Go to next step

  4. CHECK TRANSMISSION WIRE (TRANSMISSION FLUID TEMPERATURE SENSOR)
    1. Turn the power switch off.
    2. Disconnect connectors E55 and A74 from the hybrid vehicle control ECU.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      E55-33 (THO) - A74-5 (E2) 50°F (10°C) 5.0 to 8.0 kΩ
      E55-33 (THO) - A74-5 (E2) 230°F (110°C) 0.22 to 0.28 kΩ
    4. Turn the power switch on (IG).
    5. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage

Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
E55-33 (THO) - Body ground Power switch on (IG) Below 1 V
      NOTE:

Turning the power switch on (IG) with the hybrid vehicle control ECU connectors disconnected causes other DTCs to be stored. Clear the DTCs after performing this inspection.

    6. Turn the power switch off.
    7. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance

Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
E55-33 (THO) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher
A74-5 (E2) - Body ground and other terminals Power switch off 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → See step   6

    OK: Go to next step

  5. CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS
    1. Check for intermittent problems. Refer to CHECK FOR INTERMITTENT PROBLEMS .

NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE MALFUNCTIONING PARTS, COMPONENT AND AREA

    OK → See step   9

  6. CHECK CONNECTOR CONNECTION CONDITION (TRANSMISSION WIRE CONNECTOR)
    1. Check the connection of the transmission wire connector.

      OK

The connector is connected securely and there are no contact problems.

    NG → CONNECT SECURELY

    OK: Go to next step
