DTC C1783: Speed Signal Communication Error: Procedure

  1. CHECK DTC (AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM) 
    1. Clear the DTC. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR .
    2. Perform a road test.
    3. Check for DTC. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR . Check if DTC C1783 and U0122 are output.

      Output B

    B → See step   4 

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK DTC (BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM) 
    1. Check for DTC. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR . Check if DTC C1783 and a brake control system speed sensor malfunction DTC (C0200/31, C0205/32, C0210/33, C0215/35, C1236/36, C1238/38 or C1239/39) are output.

    A: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK VEHICLE SPEED SIGNAL (DATA LIST) 
    1. Turn the engine switch off.
    2. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Air Suspension / Data List.
    5. According to the display on the Techstream.

      RL Wheel Speed Rear left wheel speed reading/
      min.: 0 km/h (0 mph)
      max.: 255 km/h (159 mph)
      Actual vehicle speed Speed indicated on speedometer

      Vehicle speed indicated on the Techstream indicates the actual speed.

    NG → See step   6 

    OK → See step   7 

  4. GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. Refer to  PRECAUTION 
  5. GO TO BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM. Refer to  DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART 
  6. GO TO BRAKE CONTROL SYSTEM. Refer to  HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING 
  7. REPLACE SUSPENSION CONTROL ECU. Refer to  REMOVAL
