- Remove the luggage compartment door key cylinder. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance

- Disconnect the S39 cylinder connector.
- Disconnect the S63 ECU connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition S39-1 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω S39-2 - S63-10 (TKUL) Always Below 1 Ω S39-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK → REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)
- INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR OPENER SWITCH

- Remove the luggage compartment door opener switch. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition 1 - 2 OFF 10 kΩ or higher 1 - 2 ON Below 1 Ω

- Disconnect the S63 ECU connector.
- Disconnect the S38 switch connector.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance

- Temporarily replace the luggage compartment door closer with a new or normally functioning one. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Check the luggage compartment door closer operation.
OK

NG → REPLACE LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (REAR JUNCTION BLOCK ECU)
OK → END (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER IS DEFECTIVE)
- INSPECT FUSE (FUEL OPN)
- Remove the FUEL OPN fuse from the luggage room junction block.
- Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance
Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition FUEL OPN fuse Always Below 1 Ω
NG → REPLACE FUSE
OK: Go to next step
- INSPECT LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR CLOSER

- Remove the luggage compartment door closer. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Set the luggage compartment door closer assembly to the half-latch position.
- Apply battery voltage to the closer connector and check the closer operation.
OK
