- CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
- Check if CAN communication DTC is output. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM

- Check if Multiplex communication DTC is output. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM

- Check if Multiplex communication DTC is output. Refer to DIAGNOSIS SYSTEM

- PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (WATER TEMPERATURE METER OPERATION)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
- Check the operation by referring to the values in the table below.COMBINATION METER

Engine coolant temperature receiver gauge indication is normal.

- READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (COOLANT TEMP)
- Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
- Turn the engine switch on (IG).
- Turn the Techstream on.
- Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List.
- Check the values by referring to the values in the table below.ENGINE AND ECT
Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note Coolant Temp Engine coolant temperature/Min.: -40°C (-40°F), Max.: 140°C (284°F) After warming up: 80 to 100°C (176 to 212°F) - OK
Engine coolant temperature value displayed on the Techstream is almost the same as actual engine coolant temperature.

- REPLACE COMBINATION METER
- Replace the combination meter with a new or a known good one. Refer to REMOVAL - Step 9

- REPLACE ECM (for 2UR-GSE). Refer to REMOVAL
