DTC B2564: Difference between RH and LH Roof Drive Motor Pulse: Procedure

  1. INSPECT SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY RH (ROOF MOTOR RH) 
    1. Remove the sliding roof drive gear assembly RH (roof motor RH).

    2. Apply battery voltage and check operation of the roof motor.

      OK

      Measurement Condition Condition
      Battery positive (+) → 4 (RMR+)
      Battery negative (-) → 8 (RMR-)
      Motor gear rotates counterclockwise
      Battery positive (+) → 8 (RMR-)
      Battery negative (-) → 4 (RMR+)
      Motor gear rotates clockwise
    3. Connect an electrical tester DC 400 A probe to the wire harness of the motor.
      NOTE:

      Match the arrow mark of the probe with the direction of the current flow.

    4. Measure the current according to the value(s) in the table below.
      NOTE:

      Make sure to perform the inspection after the motor cools down sufficiently. Otherwise the result may not meet the specified condition due to protection circuit operation in the motor.

      Standard Current

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → 8 (RMR-)
      Battery negative (-) → 4 (RMR+)
      Below 5 A
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Component without harness connected
      (Sliding Roof Drive Gear Assembly RH)
      *2 Motor Gear
      *3 Clockwise
      *4 Counterclockwise

    NG → REPLACE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY RH (ROOF MOTOR RH) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. INSPECT SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLY LH (ROOF MOTOR LH) 
    1. Remove the sliding roof drive gear assembly LH (roof motor LH).

    2. Apply battery voltage and check operation of the roof motor.

      OK

      Measurement Condition Condition
      Battery positive (+) → 4 (RML+)
      Battery negative (-) → 8 (RML-)
      Motor gear rotates clockwise
      Battery positive (+) → 8 (RML-)
      Battery negative (-) → 4 (RML+)
      Motor gear rotates counterclockwise
    3. Connect an electrical tester DC 400 A probe to the wire harness of the motor.
      NOTE:

      Match the arrow mark of the probe with the direction of the current flow.

    4. Measure the current according to the value(s) in the table below.
      NOTE:

      Make sure to perform the inspection after the motor cools down sufficiently. Otherwise the result may not meet the specified condition due to protection circuit operation in the motor.

    OK → REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
