DTC B2563: Motor Lock in Package Tray Motor Circuit: Procedure

  1. INSPECT PACKAGE TRAY TRIM BRACKET (MAIN PACKAGE TRAY MOTOR) 
    1. Remove the package tray trim bracket.

      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Component without harness connected
      (Package Tray Trim Bracket)
      *2 Deployed (fully extended)
      *3 Stowed (partially extended) *4 Tilted up
    2. Apply battery voltage and check operation of the package tray trim bracket.

      OK

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → 4 (MPM+)
      Battery negative (-) → 8 (MPM-)
      Main package tray tilted up
      Battery positive (+) → 8 (MPM-)
      Battery negative (-) → 4 (MPM+)
      Main package tray deployed
    3. Connect an electrical tester DC 400 A probe to the wire harness of the motor.
      NOTE:

      Match the arrow mark of the probe with the direction of the current flow.

    4. Measure the current according to the value(s) in the table below.
      NOTE:
      • Make sure to perform the inspection after the motor cools down sufficiently. Otherwise the result may not meet the specified condition due to protection circuit operation in the motor.
      • Disconnect the battery immediately after the main package tray stops.

      Standard Current

      Measurement Condition Specified Condition
      Battery positive (+) → 8 (MPM-)
      Battery negative (-) → 4 (MPM+)
      Below 5 A

    NG → REPLACE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM BRACKET (MAIN PACKAGE TRAY MOTOR) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PACKAGE TRAY TRIM BRACKET - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the P60 and P55 connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P55-1 (MPM+) - P55-5 (MPM-) Always 10 kΩ or higher

      *1 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Sliding Roof Control ECU Assembly)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK → REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
