DTC B255C: Luggage Door Closer Switch RH Abnormal Operation: Procedure

  1. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (RH CLOSER POLE SW) 
    1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
    3. Turn the Techstream on.
    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Retractable Hardtop / Data List.
    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
      RETRACTABLE HARDTOP (SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY)

      Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
      RH Closer Pole SW Closer pole switch RH signal/ON or OFF ON: Closer pole switch RH on (immediately before luggage door half or full latch)
      OFF: Closer pole switch RH off (luggage door fully open or fully closed)      		 -

      OK

      The Techstream display changes according to condition as shown in the table.

    NG → See step   2 

    OK → REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE - SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU) 
    1. Disconnect the P58, P59 and P53 connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P58-7 (LCRP) - P53-3 (LCRP) Always Below 1 Ω
      P53-3 (LCRP) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      P59-2 (LCRE) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Luggage Compartment Door Hinge Assembly RH)
      *2 Front view of wire harness connector
      (to Sliding Roof Control ECU Assembly)

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE ASSEMBLY RH (HARNESS AND CONNECTOR) 
    1. Disconnect the P58, P59 and A connectors.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      P58-7 (LCRP) - A-5 Always Below 1 Ω
      P59-2 (LCRE) - A-1 Always Below 1 Ω
      P58-7 (LCRP) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Component without harness connected
      (Luggage Compartment Door Hinge Assembly RH)

    NG → REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE ASSEMBLY RH (HARNESS OR CONNECTOR) 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE ASSEMBLY RH (LUGGAGE DOOR CLOSER ASSEMBLY RH) 
    1. Disconnect the A connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      HINT: 

      Using a screwdriver, move the latch to each position indicated in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A-5 - A-1 Open latch → Full latch OFF (10 kΩ or higher) → ON (Below 1 Ω) → OFF (10 kΩ or higher) → ON (Below 1 Ω) → OFF (10 kΩ or higher)
      TEXT IN ILLUSTRATION

      *1 Component without harness connected
      (Luggage Compartment Door Hinge Assembly RH (Luggage Door Closer Assembly RH))
      *2 Open latch
      *3 Half latch
      *4 Full latch

    NG → REPLACE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE ASSEMBLY RH (LUGGAGE DOOR CLOSER ASSEMBLY RH) 

    OK → REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY
