DTC B254A: Side Package Tray Switch No. 1 LH Abnormal Operation: Procedure

1. Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).
3. Turn the Techstream on.
4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Retractable Hardtop / Data List.
5. Read the Data List according to the display on the Techstream.
   RETRACTABLE HARDTOP (SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY)

   The Techstream display changes according to condition as shown in the table.

NG → See step   2 

OK → REPLACE SLIDING ROOF CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY 

1. Check that the wire harness of the No. 1 side package tray LH switch has not been pinched by the body.
2. Disconnect the h8 connector.

3. Remove the slide roof motor assembly (side package tray motor).
4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   1 (SPL1) - 2 (SPLE)	While changing from fully stowed position to temporarily moved clear position	Below 1 Ω → 10 kΩ or higher
   1 (SPL1) - 2 (SPLE)	While changing from temporarily moved clear position to fully deployed position	10 kΩ or higher
   1 (SPL1) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

NG → REPLACE NO. 2 PACKAGE TRAY TRIM HINGE 

OK: Go to next step 

1. Disconnect the h8 and Q36 connectors.

2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

   Standard Resistance

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   h8-1 (SPL1) - Q36-14 (SPL1)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   h8-1 (SPL1) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
   h8-2 (SPLE) - Body ground	Always	Below 1 Ω
